I got 14/151 (charizard, squirtle, pikachu, raichu, meowth, psyduck, golduck, geodude, slowpoke, goldeen, seaking, snorlax, mewtwo, mew and missingno) from watching the cartoon on TV 25 years ago and never playing the games. I also remembered rattata, poliwhirl, diglett and koffing but spelled them one letter off so that's pretty much 18/151

ran out of time, got suuuuper stuck on a few I should have remembered (I spent a lot of time trying to remember bellsprout's name despite seeing it in my head)

and then I probably should have remembered Snorlax (was at one point my favorite Pokemon) or Hypno
and Zubat, because I was trying to think of what Pokemon I'd see from place to place in the game
most of the rest, I don't feel too bad about

there were more than a few times when I forgot an evolution isn't in gen 1 (namely, kingdra)
