Making an epic imageboard on static hosting is not only possible — it's optimal. All you need is a single HTML file, Firebase in “test mode,” and your admin password hard-coded in JavaScript for convenience.

Security is simple: if everyone can read and write to the database, no one can hack it — it's called equality through vulnerability.

For moderation, just compare passwords client-side — an anonymous imageboard should be transparent, after all. Hiding things only breeds mistrust; let everyone see the code and the password so the community can moderate itself in perfect harmony.
