In the thread where I played pokemon red someone brought up the idea of making a pokemon game. This thread is simply to discuss that idea. Personally I think all double battles is a good idea.

I don't know how'd we do the H-Scenes. But aside from that, FireRed is a pretty easy game to mod.

so it's not like it'll really be that hard to make a sprite flip or something.

I mean if you want to talk actual pokemon mechanics, what could be interesting additions?

If we don't just do a Moemon hack, do we make a bunch of Kaomoji to replace the pokemon instead? (´~`) should we just keep the pokemon as is?
Double battles only would be interesting but is there anything else on top we could add to spice it up? Aside from H-Scenes..
Do we even bother making that original?

I don't know if this is a good or a bad idea. You know pokemon Colosseum for the gamecube. It had a really good idea in limiting the number of pokemon you could realistically get. Why not do something like that. Instead of wild encounters we encounter pokemon via various events.

I.e you encounter a snorlax sleeping on the road. If you give it an awakening it just moves out of the way but if you give it a chesto berry or lum berry it joins your team. I get that's obtuse but it was just an example. Getting the really good pokemon would require harder tasks to get them.
