almost all screenshots are censored beyond recognition. I would beg an oldfag to make a similar video but less faggy and upload it to vidlii instead of shit tube :dark:

Don't worry. Dozens of "spooky internet mystery"/"dark corners of teh interwebs" youtube videos are uploaded every single day. Eventually the creators of these videos will run out of content to the point that they'll cover IVU as an spoopy mystery too. 👻
>>
>>156768
I'm actually glad that YouTubers are doing the job of spreading rumours about imageboards being "creepy" or dark, because it is an effective way of gatekeeping communities from people who would be too weak for any of the content on the site anyway. It's like putting up a scarecrow or a warning sign on a property to lure people away. I wouldn't be surprised if people who make these "dark side of the interwebs" videos browse every site they mention just to keep people out.
>>
INTERNET SCARY:astonish:
>>
kaguya's websites:

kereste: made it to national news in turkey after a user beheaded 2 women and threw their corpses off a castle

gurochan: ancient and famous imageboard, part of the internet ethos, classic shock site and overall well known

heyuri: STILL awaiting its debut to the world wide media.

How do we break into the limelight?
>>
>>156787
i wouldn't want heyuri to be reviewed in a negative light such as a fuckhead's youtube essay about imageboard notoriety. :glare2:

On a serious note, I hate the term. According to a study I saw, 90% of CP is self-produced. As child pornography is usually defined as any sexualized nude image of a person under the age of 18, most of this material under that definition just ends up being adolescents posting their nudes online willingly. Not surprising given that they all have handheld computers with cameras attached to them. CSAM and CSEM imply contexts which do not necessarily exist, and in fact, rarely exist.

>Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.

more importantly these companies that use the term csam love to group 2d anime girls into that as well. Many anti american agents love to outright call anime "child porn" which is like on the same level of accusing someone of murder for watching a violent movie.

On the topic of horrifying quotes found in 20th century fiction:

"Now let's take up the minorities in our civilization, shall we? Bigger the population, the more minorities. Don't step on the toes of the dog-lovers, the cat-lovers, doctors, lawyers, merchants, chiefs, Mormons, Baptists, Unitarians, second-generation Chinese, Swedes, Italians, Germans, Texans, Brooklynites, Irishmen, people from Oregon or Mexico. The people in this book, this play, this TV serial are not meant to represent any actual painters,
cartographers, mechanics anywhere. The bigger your market, Montag, the less you handle controversy, remember that! All the minor minor minorities with their navels to be kept clean. Authors, full of evil thoughts, lock up your typewriters. They did. Magazines became a nice blend of vanilla tapioca. Books, so the damned snobbish critics said, were dishwater. No wonder books stopped selling, the critics said. But the public, knowing what it wanted, spinning happily, let the comic-books survive. And the three-dimensional sex magazines, of course. There you have it, Montag. It didn't come from the Government down. There was no dictum, no declaration, no censorship, to start with, no! Technology, mass exploitation, and minority pressure carried the trick, thank God. Today, thanks to them, you can stay happy all the time, you are allowed to read comics, the good old confessions, or trade journals."

"Colored people don't like Little Black Sambo. Burn it. White people don't feel good about Uncle Tom's Cabin. Burn it. Someone's written a book on tobacco and cancer of the lungs? The cigarette people are weeping? Burn the book. Serenity, Montag. Peace, Montag. Take your fight outside. Better yet, into the incinerator. Funerals are unhappy and pagan? Eliminate them, too. Five minutes after a person is dead he's on his way to the Big Flue, the Incinerators serviced by helicopters all over the country. Ten minutes after death a man's a speck of black dust. Let's not quibbleover individuals with memoriams. Forget them. Burn them all, burn everything. Fire is bright and fire is clean."
-Colonel Beatty, Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury

Emphasis on:
>There you have it, Montag. It didn't come from the Government down. There was no dictum, no declaration, no censorship, to start with, no! Technology, mass exploitation, and minority pressure carried the trick, thank God.

It seems like a there has been a general rise in purging "problematic/inappropriate" content since 2014 and worsened after 2022 (though I don't have much first-hand experience of US internet during the years before then). Can anyone else back this up or dismiss this?

Also, this isn't really based on any evidence, but does it seem like the people calling for the death of lolicons are the same people complaining about youtube AI age verification and whatever the thing with "Clippy" and free software is? It could just be that I'm looking at two different groups of people using the same website.

On a side note, I'm surprised there isn't a "dark web exploration" video on kuz :kuz: and his shenanigans, considering events regarding the sharty and Vidlii

>call anime "child porn" which is like on the same level of accusing someone of murder for watching a violent movie
more like accusing someone of watching police bodycam shooting videos when they're watching violent cartoons

theres like a dozen ones about kuz. heres one from a quick google search

That's a good quote because you're right, censorship, especially on this topic, often comes from the general population just as much as it does any authority.

>a general rise in purging "problematic/inappropriate" content since 2014 and worsened after 2022

I don't remember there being much censorship until maybe 2015 or perhaps even 2016, I could be misremembering though. I had to look it up but loli was banned on reddit circa 2018.

the people you're talking about are more interested in "fighting the good fight" without actually being invested in the fight ( ´ω`)

it's very gay
you end up with people with no real interest in actually helping anyone or making things better in specific, it's about fighting against some sort of general injustice, real or imagined (´~`)

thankfully, we are on Heyuri and not in the YouTube comment section, so those fuckers don't matter ヽ(´∇`)ノ

the clippy thing being dragged in with these sorts sucks though since it really is supposed to be pushing back against pointlessly shitty "let's put AI in your fucking toast and datamine you" bullshit every company seems to be doing these days (;´Д`)
