its less chaotic than 4chan, but more active then other imageboards

i talk a lot about the little things that make heyuri so great but i couldnt tell you what one aspect keeps me here. all i know is when i was directed here by a different bulletin board in 2020, i said "this is the best website currently online"

its coming up to 6 years of daily use after that thought and i havent changed my mind at all

When I first found Heyuri, I thought I stumbled upon a secret ancient imageboard that noone has made a new post since the 2000s but still online for some reason due to the overall atmosphere and then-unusual date format

There are too many reasons to list, but a big one was the fact that users here seemed carefree and didn't have all the joy-killing dogmas that imageboards usually have

Activity was relatively high, fun was allowed, and OC was celebrated - that's all I ever wanted

activity was also a big factor for me, its not so big that you cant keep up but its not so small that no one posts

I would like Heyuri even if it was receiving 1-2 posts a day, but I eternally desire for MOAR ACTIVITY

I heard about this place from looking for a place to oekaki. Only came to take a proper look around the time 4chan got hacked. Reminds me of a chill forum with a cool community of users (sort of like those old drawthreads you used to find on 4/trash/ or /po/).

Truly has told me that a massive part of a website's charm comes from the people and the interactions you have with them. (obvious in hindsight)

I see most of the users here ticked the box just by being in heyuri

It's like it used to be. not that much porn and you never know what you find. I still lurk 4chan bant but its not the same feel

I left 4chan because I realized I didn't want to talk to anyone there and decided to find somewhere else.
Within the week, I found Heyuri on an imageboard listing and the rest was history.
A site that explicitly doesn't allow the shit that made me leave 4chan for sounded great.

I wanted to roleplay that I'm on /b/ in 2007 because I enjoyed being on /b/ in 2007. Seems that aspect of the culture has been somewhat lost, but I stick around because it's relaxing and funny.

Any "larping" Heyuri had was limited to a few days on 2020, but it's only normal Heyuri's atmosphere would remind people of earlier 4chan, or we're posting about the same anime etc today

I instantly felt at home, it's an accepting and nonjudgemental bunch of people, a comfy aesthetic that reminds me of browsing 4chan when I was 17 in 2005, and it even works for browsing and posting from my potato old toy laptops
