Since yesterday the JASDF is in the process of deploying some fighters to the UK (and later Germany) and I've been watching them on ADS-B!
There are two Kawasaki C-2s, two KC-767J tankers and a private KC-10 tanker, plus the F-15s. Pic related are the C-2s approaching Alaska at about 1a.m. UTC. A few more to follow! :mona2:

Bristol Bay! And Nunivak is the little island to the north of the two planes. There's 191 people living there, but that number is from the 2010 census. 15 years later, I wonder how many still remain. :glare:

The tankers are west of Anchorage now and coverage is a little spotty. They should touch down at Eielson AFB, Fairbanks in about 2 hours or so; I'll post then.

Seems like a very quiet place :nyaoo:

>Fairbanks in about 2 hours or so
Maybe if I can catch them flying outside, I can snap a photo of them. If I get lucky. (´人`)

That would be super cool! :astonish:
They're a little closer than I thought, haha There'll be three tankers and probably the F-15s too since they'll need the tankers to cross the pacific.
>>
Well hey, look what I found! These are probably the F-15s ヽ(´∇`)ノ
>>
They're landing now
Also, here is a good video to go with the event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNVetgWvdqo

kewl planes! :hokke:

Hello everynyan ヽ(´∇`)ノ
A C-2 took off about 20 minutes ago. It should be heading for CFB Goose Bay (Canadian airbase)!
Also, I uploaded the JASDF Press release here https://up.heyuri.net/src/4832.pdf :shii:

With a Get like that I believe you
I'm also super jealous...

The C-2s are now well on their way to Canada, this screenshot is where they were last seen 30 minutes ago. There should be two but one of them cannot be found on ADSB for some reason. 🍁

very nice

The C-2s haven't been picked up for 2.5 hours now and their last known position is the same as last screenshot, so they might have landed now or very soon :nyaoo-closedeyes:

Might see the tankers take off early tomorrow morning or afternoon but after that we won't be able to see them until they reach the UK (Tomorrow) due to bad ADSB coverage
>>
Day three of JASDF Deployment!

The tankers have just taken off from Eielson AFB with their F-15s and are on the way to Canada!

Unfortunately I won't be able to track them once over the Canadian wilderness, so until they reach the UK there will be no more updates. Fear not! I will stay up all night tonight as a dutiful watchman until they are found again!
>>
Tankers are now over Canada after losing contact for about 1.5 hours, 2 hours after takeoff. The lower plane is the first C-2 which was not seen again since yesterday. Also, the second C-2 is actually still at Eielson AFB, it didn't go with the first C-2 like I thought it did. :astonish:

I expect the tankers to lose contact again soon, so this will (most likely) be the last update until, I predict, about 8pm or 9pm UTC tomorrow (I think that is when the first plane will reach the UK)
>>
They're here! The First C-2 has arrived near Ireland and will land at RAF Coningsby or RAF Brize Norton
This screenshot was taken moments ago. This means the tankers and F-15s should arrive about 24 hours from now
>>
The C-2 has landed at RAF Coningsby. I thought it would land at Brize Norton since that is used by RAF Cargo/AAR Tankers. :mona2:
