When I move out of my parents house, I am considering buying 500 burgasse takeout boxes, so that I can use these to eat from rather than porcelain plates. This way I do not have to do the washing up since I can just throw them away. 500 boxes costs £77.85 on ebay, if I use 1 a day, with an upper estimate of 35 a month, this will cost me just £5.45 a month (like 7.5 us dollars or 6.5 euros).

All considered, 5.45 a month seems liek a good deal for not having to do washing up. I would then order another 500 14 months later.

If you are finna say it is bad for da environment, I will inform you that burgasse is amde from crushed sugar cane pulp, most sugar cane pulp is thrown away anyway since the need for sugar is higher than the pulp so this is environmentally neutral.

Thoughts?

isn't the whole point of a burger that you don't need a plate to eat it?

You dont need to wash cups, they are self washing; you literally put water into them to use them
>>
are they cheaper than paper bowls?

what about tea and coffee? also water doesn't wash bacteria

Your fortune: Good luck

Why would there bacteria unless you wre drinking a sugary drink - which I don't do.
I don't drink water from a mug, so since I am only drinkign tea or coffee from mugs it is ok for me to reuse the mug without washing since there is only gonna be some coffee grains in it.

If you cut them in half where it folds, you will have 1000 plates

I know in the 3rd world country known as the united kingdom they don't have these, but here in my civilized nation we have this machine called a DISH WASHER you put dishes in and a little soap and press a button and it washes ur dishes for you perfectly. They were invented in the 1800s and the design hasn't really changed since, idk how you people still haven't figured this one out.

Unless you wash just one or two dishes at a time the dirty dishes will pile up for days while waiting to be washed and stink up the kitchen and attract lots of bugs, and you'll have to inhale that stench while loading them into the dishwasher. OP's plan is much less work and he can just throw the dishes out the window immediately after using them since they're biodegradable so all the bugs and rotting food odors stay outside.

Teh downside with takeout boxes are teh amount of trash that will pile up fast, and those will stink too! :dizzy:

I normally use sugarcane plates for the same reason as OP: I despise doing the dishes. They're surprisingly resistant to leaking (though not completely like plastic).

I used to also cook soaked dried rice in paper cups with a microwave. As well as using paper towels on these plates to bake sausages and fish cutlets (don't go above 180C)

OP, I suggest you use the base and the lid as two separate plates, and tear the boxes at the hinges. That way you save even more and you can stack the used boxes more easily to save space.

Also consider aluminum foil trays if you want to make something soupy.

also if you want fry something on a skillet, try lining it with baking paper! Them you can just throw away the baking paper without needing to clean the pan.
