i will never forgive southwest for strongarming boeing into continuing the 737 family instead of the 757 family or just building a new narrowbody plane all together all becuase they couldnt be assed to stop using a plane from the 60s, basically causing the whole max scandal to happen.

american commercial aviation is still pretty safe compared to the rest of the world. the last american narrowbody lost in a fatal crash was american eagle flight 5342 from earlier this year. last fatal widebody hull loss was prime air flight 3591 from 2019

thats because us carriers insist on sending 2 bajillion e195s/737s/a320s instead of like 2-3 larger widebodies on busy routes causing atc to be clogged up. case in point these are the planes servicing the busiest flight route in the country.
