Is the reason you get a new one shame? I understand shame, potential stalk or simply people not unmasking your identity. There can be any other reason too!

I havent used them outside of heyuri because people are strict outside of heyuri seeing it as attentionfagging and insulting immediately, I only chose to display an identity in select posts because heyuri doesnt any thread with a single tripcode into an ape festival. I have dropped one tripcode after one post on heyuri. I am maintaining 4 tripcodes currently on heyuri, though this is my primary identity for now.

I know I mix up identity and tripcode itself, but for the sake of simplicity let's assume they are pretty much the same thing.

none. i have always found namefagging and using trips weird, and even more nowadays (and by nowadays i mean for like... more than a fucking decade now... *sigh*) with how much internet anonymity has plummeted to the ground. i always expect everyone to be craving anonymity at 200%.
i'm not saying you are, but apart from the staff, i tend to assume these users are (if not r0) between 18-20 at most ^^;

I've always wondered why people use tripcodes. The answer I've thought of is "good communication", where you prevent people from getting confused when replying in thread or thinking some other anon's thoughts and opinions are yours. In a way, it feels similar to starting of your post with "OP here". It seems like selecting usernames with passwords on hobby forums circa 2008.

The question is why it so often ends up with

Do you guys think it has something similar to the relationships youtuber/twitch streamers have with a dedicated fanbase? Where commenters tend to post the most inane messages to get the attention of the streamer, and streamers often intentionally mess up to make their audience react and give them attention?
