Y'know, I've got like, two XMPP accounts. (one xmpp dot jp and one blah dot im) I'm in the mood to have more people in my contact list. Doesn't matter if you add one account or the other, I'm willing to chat.
Marked for deletion (Old)
>>
Yeah i could add you. If you post either one of them first. Dumbass.
>>
tsubo-d@blah.im and tsubosama@xmpp.jp respectively.
I posted both of them. Oh well!

The filename is wrong, this is not Suika, this is やみんSIK.

Understood. Sidenote: the MMD model in the whole 'japanese goblin' meme (gif rel) is also Yamin, just in case.
After looking into the wiki link, she's pretty much a good example of an OG Cookie☆ VA who embraced it's rise to meme status.

I prefer matrix but I'll try xmpp again. I'm getting into DSBM lately and I like to discuss films, but we can talk about whatever I guess.

its mature enough do be used with little to no trouble, and you can setup your own server in two hours!
(assuming you already know how to deal with tls certificates)

is the advantage to self hosting that you dont leak your device's metadata?
>>
What is a good client? I've been using Gajim just because its the first thing that popped up but if theres any recommendations for Windows 10/11 Clients I would love to hear them
>>
>recommendations for Windows 10/11 Clients
I use Psi+ cuz the overall UI and experience is more reminiscent of ye olde IM clients (as opposed to dicksword), but I wouldn't recommend it to just anyone. It's a bit of a cluttered mess, and certain functionality (like OMEMO encryption) requires digging through menus to enable/configure plugins :sweat2:

Psi+ looks pretty, ill try it out when i get a chance
>>
>>145790
teh advantage is that your data stored on your server in encrypted form, there is no "metadata" except for your Nick(optional) and avatar(optional)
>>
i forgot to mention that omemo\pgp fingerprints are published too, but it depends of your client. gajim publishes and signs fingerprints by default while profanity does not
>>
i tried to switch from psi to psi+ because it was brought to my attention that psi doesn't have omemo but conversations don't show up in the message boxes! it's just a blank white box where the conversation should be!

Is this more of a one to one chat system or are there group chats as well? I don't handle one to one chats all that well...

i never tried it with group chat.

heyuri gamers here, and non gamers but i need gamers.
>>
>>145884
I don't see much point in having a xmpp groupchat when we already have a heyuri group chat on cgi.
>>
>>145906
there is omemo on the muc but is all about choice

i tried to host xmpp on a server and i used prosody but i got an error because debian installed lua 5.1 which was apparently too old and when i manually updated lua to 5.4 it still didnt work (´~`)
>>
>>145904
if there was a error joining the muc should be fixed now.
>>
