Linux definitely sucks balls, but nowhere near as hard as wangblows ever has.
There are, in fact, no good OSs out there. Good shit like lispos's and oberon's and taos's got nuked by billy boy's soft dick and sweaty balls ballmer's gay embrace.
That leaves unix niggerism like linux or, worse, the various BSDs, or total cancer that couldn't even be competition to the average fisher price toy of yesteryear, such as wangblows and homOSeX.
In other words, install gentoo.

damn near everyone that I've seen pine for lisp machines and Oberon has spent no time with either
of all the
programming environment as operating system
people, the only crowd I've seen really go in on it are forth users
people also forget just how bad things actually were that Windows had such a low competition field that it did to succeed in - you could almost argue that MS didn't even need to be their usual bastard selves (but they were, even in that time they engaged in anticompetitive behavior), because the competition just was not there
still thinking about all the environments that charged thousands for compilers and shit from the late 80s and early 90s
and a lot of the "get a real computer" types were on university systems that were north of 10x more expensive than a machine they could reasonably get at home and thus their opinion doesn't matter
(⌒∇⌒ゞ)
people act like MS got into their position out of nowhere
but you'll look at the decisions everyone else was making and you can immediately see that they were the wrong ones
as an aside, I am still baffled that Apple even survived into the 90s, they fucked up as bad as any other 80s home computer manufacturer
┐(゚~゚)┌
although Jobs coming back was probably why they didn't die sometime in 1998 lol, just a complete strategy turnaround

>This release contains fixes for CVE-2023-36325. CVE-2023-36325 is a context-confusion bug which occurred in the bloom filter. An attacker crafts an I2NP message containing a unique messageID, and sends that messageID to a client. The message, after passing through the bloom filter, is not allowed to be re-used in a second message. The attacker then sends the same message directly to the router. The router passes the message to the bloom filter, and is dropped. This leaks the information that the messageID has been seen before, giving the attacker a strong reason to believe that the router is hosting the client
TLDR: there was an exploit that allowed attackers to deanonymize server hosts which caused most Darknet services to stop hosting on i2p which killed the whole project

I heard a rumor not that long ago that an illegal forum on TOR got hacked and the hackers allegedly obtained the users' IP addresses. This was allegedly done using a zero day Firefox exploit. They secretly took over the forum for a while before taking it down with a notice that they had all of the users' info including IP addresses. I don't know how much of that is true or if anybody was arrested or anything but ever since I heard about it I've had zero trust in TOR. I feel like the hackers were probably law enforcement agencies using a hacker group as a front so they wouldn't have to reveal their methods. Maybe it's related to this Operation Liberty Lane?

the US agencies workflow for illegal forums is usually like this:
1. receive legal complaint on illegal forum
2. investigate forum owners and do OPSEC research on them
3. arrest forum owners, receive access to servers
4. if forum users has bad agents, do not announce the arrest yet and run the forum undercover for a period of 30 days or something while users still think everything is normal
5. if users have accounts do OPSEC research on their mail addresses, put malicious images and JS so that computers send their real IP, OS version and MAC to the pozzed server
6. make a case for court against selected users when proof is enough and receive search warrant
7. enter the house and investigate computer: is it running linux (hint he's a knowledgeable geek)? if it's on, search the cache, directly read the RAM, search for logs to have even more proof to arrest the users
8. bring the selected users to federal court (crimes must be felonies for an agency to be involved iirc)
9. announce the closure of the forum on its main page citing the laws that weren't followed
that's the main course i've seen on court reports. as you can see tor usually has no part in it, because it doesn't provide security but only pseudo-anonimity. but it has CVEs like any other program too.

I might be thinking of a different incident, but there was a forum whose admin team was infiltrated by the feds. When a new version of Tor was released, they uploaded a backdoor'd version of it to the site and announced that everyone should download it.
My understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong
) but normally Tor is safe unless every node you connect to is compromised.

This is definitely a different incident. Nothing like that happened. The forum had experienced downtime for a few days weeks before the hack so it's assumed that it was compromised from the time it came back until it was taken down. I'm pretty sure just the entry and exit nodes have to be compromised which is why it's a good idea to exclude entry and exit nodes from all of the five eyes countries.

I am far too stoopud to understand half of what is being said here. I've been trying to i2p for like 2 fucking years (a grand total of 40 minutes of reading), and I've never gotten i2p to function.
Somebody link me a braindead starting point. YT algorithms keep giving me the same rehashed by bald guys reading wikipaedia headers, no actual process and self management.
Here is a picture of a MurderRabbit.
kthnxbye.
