Same, I don't understand how conversations work, nor how to start one. Sometimes a conversation happens, other times I don't know what to say and I can never tell why.
It also feels easier to talk with someone when I'm not trying to be friends and am just fucking around.

i have the same problem but i did start meeting people for the first time in my life by playing ddr at the arcade. i struggle with social interactions so any potential friendship with these people fizzled out though.

there's an arcade near me with older ddr machines but they don't maintain them properly so the pads don't registered properly the arcade i go to just has newer ddr machines which lack the older classic ddr songs but make up for it with a lot of fun denpa/moe and vocaloid songs.

personal internet friends are fickle, you'll find. for as much as everyone here likes posting with each and other, the chances of making real, lasting connections on the netz are quite low - even if it can feel great when they're just budding.

i forgot how to make friends in high school
during high school it was random and not my effort that i managed to get a decent bunch of friends that invited me

been at uni for 2 years though and i dont know anyone

one talk i had was when i had english as a foreign language class for the first time and it was a spoken assignment in pairs
hag gave us paper strips with questions to pick and answer and they were like 'what music do you listen to' or 'what hobbies you got' and it was very scary
i did not reveal the power level but dude was enchanted by my answers it seems

i havent seen him since, i showed a paper and got max grade for not attending the next day

1. Register an account with an XMPP provider ( https://providers.xmpp.net/ - personally I use xmpp.jp, and I would recommend avoiding ones based in Germany or other ghey countries)
2. Download & install an XMPP client (depends on ur OS. One that supports OMEMO encryption is best: https://omemo.top/ . On Windows I use Psi+ cuz I prefer the oldsk00l UI, but n00bs mite prefer something liek Gajim)
3. Add ur account to ur client

Profanity looks like an IRC client and settings can be a pain to set up, also there are no media previews.

The last friend I had of the past 8 years has changed a lot, and has clearly moved on and found more preferable friends. I feel lonely, but it'd been a long time since we'd watched anime together or talked about loli or done anything together really, outside of briefly talk.
