It seems throughout all my time using the internet, since the 2000s, its always seemed to me that the lowest quality content always seemed to spill from video game related subjects and discussion, second only to politics and religion. Anime, film, technology, Outdoors, guns, anything else under the sun never seem to generate this level of dogshit. Why do you think that is? dizzy

Gaming experiences are highly personal - there's a vast number of wildly different genres, and it's easy for people to get pissed off if they find a game too easy/hard, boring, time-wasting, too expensive, buggy, falsely-advertised, etc.

There's also teh fact that games often appeal to inherently competitive people, as well as those who aren't the greatest at socializing with others sweat2

yuo are sounding like such a gamecube fanboy baby right now. rolleyes did you poopoo your diaper?

i would love vidya board here. i think heyurizens wouldnt be tight assed about gaemu

barring obvious exceptions like politics and religion, the only time I see people get more personally invested than game discussion is when they're talking about technology
the sheer fucking holy wars about incredibly minor stack differences I've seen on 4/g/ have been worse than anything I've seen on 4/v/, and this isn't atypical for other places I've been

still, games just attract a younger, less level headed crowd that does immature shit
and that's life

but yeah, I can solidly say tech posting ends up being angrier than games lul, even if game talk is more immature

Overly competitive, immature, and usually broke (due to being underage b& or just turboNEETs) so they can't afford more than one current gen system. Also don't forget everyone's favorite, autism. biggrin

can you define "lowest quality content"
>>
>>140294
lowest quality content = things you like

best and most sophisticated content = things I like

the gaming space is just toxic. i don't mean that in some lame way that people use the term toxic. i tend to just watch youtube and stream vods of positive people who don't focus on shitting on things. i just enjoy video games and engage with content that is also positive about the games i enjoy. i don't go out of my way to hate on the bad games or shit on the industry. i'm not a toxic positivity guy, i just engage with the good stuff. which is mostly indie games these days.
