Newbie integration threadHiI hope I am not too obnoxious, favoring personal choices or warping truthIn any case please respond to correct meThis thread is intended as an introduction of Heyuri to newbs!Mod sama please alter my post if my understanding of rules is wrong or move thread somewhere if it is too bad.I don't want to sound harsh. We are OK with almost everything.Integration is tough at first.Feel at home, it won't take you long to integrate! I allow myself to touch taboos for educational purposes.(You cannot have people follow rules whose boundaries they don't know.)BoardsHeyuri currently consists of boards as listed, no hidden boards to my knowledge.Additionally you might want to check out these places:1. UP - file upload boards, there is lots of old stuff and OC because they were not wiped unlike threads in Heyuri's earlier days. Though now Heyuri does not wipe old threads.2. Wiki - free knowledge for learning what is Heyuri3. CGI - it has chats and games, you can vote for next anime we watch or game we play, you can play with other heyurizens! (Heyurizen is a common name for people frequenting Heyuri)4. Vote board, though I do not know its current location. We periodically watch anime together. You will be notified as there will be an embedded announcement on /b/ with a timer. Try using 'find' function in Heyuri wiki if you find something interesting. You can probably find it there at least in some capacity. If you are truly too lazy or there is no info on teh wiki you can ask it. I will respond to my ability.Heyuri Associationshttps://heyuri.net/index.php?p=linksHeyuri has an association with a video sharing platform.Vidlii tried to carry spirit of old youtube.https://www.vidlii.com/Most Heyurizens use it. It is friendly or at least used to be friendly until morons swarmed to it posting hitler and calling everyone a nigger. Though it feels like a little village of friends to this day in a way, like Heyuri. You can only realistically get warned for posting porn on Vidlii, or banned for posting porn constantly.I think rules changed since then but that used to be the standard.I can't think of another site that has this much of a userbase overlap as Vidlii. There was an imageboard Nashi Kouen but it has died recently, spirit was similar but tamer.AdminsThe first admin of Heyuri was Lolico who tried to imitate old imageboard experience. He was doxed and left (I think). His avatar used to be Hatsune Miku, there is one emote of Lolico still in use.It was taken over by Kuz who I think just liked to collect websites and some compared him to W.T. Snacks. Kolyma network fell. I wonder if Kuz was drafted by Russia. Kuz is gone. His avatar was Tomo from Azumanga.Lastly and currently Heyuri was taken over by Kaguya as its third admin, Kaguya is involved in other sites but cares for this one very well. There is no admin besides Kaguya. His avatar is Kaguya from touhou.A general rule is that if a tripfag has a colored tripcode - he most likely is a moderator.Rules of HeyuriSimple and can be found here:https://www.heyuri.net/index.php?view=rulesRule 0 - means you can't admit to being underage. That is because there were 3 lolis brough over from another site and one posted her room, things and later posted herself posing, finally she posted teh CP of herself (or so I believe) and this rule was added with all of them being banned and sadly parting ways, I still have most photos saved.Rule 7 - means you are discouraged from discussing politics. It is a very low ragebait and leads to nothing. I think safe politics is politics that is irrelevant to modern day, so ridiculing irrelevant politics like discussing soviet union, yugoslavia or george bush for example; and related to them history seems fine to me. Besides we are too similar to have much differing political views anyway, what is the point of repeating things that everyone agrees on. (Personal opinion)Rule 8 - this one prevents cancer and ensures cultural preservation. It used to be enforced hard but nowadays it is quite lax.Marked for deletion (Old)
Rule 8 brieflyWhat gets you banned (most common and general reasons):-Posting pepes, wojacks, discord or reddit type memes and their meme macros, media that is obviously from cancerous places (You do know what I mean)-Using their lingo in any capacity, unless further heavily justifying context is present (I guess)-Reposting tiktoks, or other mainstream things if too obnoxious (I think)-Using greentext for anything other than quoting-Heavily subverting Heyuri cultureWhat could get your post autosaged, locked or deleted:-Politics, there has not been many instances where heyurizens post politics anyway.-I don't know, its quite rare. What can make heyurizens repulsed by you:-Every heyurizen can smell you are a foreigner unless you dont assimilate (same case is for every chan if you don't lurk enough though).-Posting with a file name obviously stating its origin from things like facebook-(We know its origin if the jpg is blurry)What unrelated to rule 8 gets you banned:-Check them, dubs, trips etc.-Flame wars and ragebaits-CP-Being too serious with no necessity, usually related to rage (I think)-Vtubers (I assume)Check rules to make sure, I only cherrypicked some of them.Replying directly to OP in threads used to be a way to get banned, now it seems nobody gets banned for it.A healthy advice is to lurk and look at past threads to have an understanding of what is generally acceptable.I don't want to sound harsh on what is good and what not because Heyuri seems to be fine with pretty much anything, but please avoid the most obvious ones.Don't induce annoyance in oldfriends the same way I do not wish to do this to newfriends.Post trickshttps://heyuri.net/index.php?p=faqPut this in "name" field:noko - default, makes you return to the thread instead of main pagesage - makes thread not receive a bumpnokosage - sage and noko combinedflag - displays a flag depending on your IPfortune - picks one fortune for youIf you make the thread:displayip - displays IP range of all posters like 123.123.*.*I think there are more but I don't use more and so I don't remember. There are wordfilters for PENIS, VAGINA and partybus or partyvan. I don't know of others.About formatting posts, you use BBCodes with two square brackets, they work like HTML tags. You can format mindlessly using the BBCode option while typing.Make sure you tick the box before trying to "Add" it, it won't work otherwise! You can type them out manually too. There are tags for posting ASCII/SJIS art without breaking and making parts of post scrollable like mine.I am not sure about the art tag, but scroll tag is just "scroll" and remember to end it with "/scroll", same for all BBCodes.Using big text is not usually banned but please don't over do it.Culture and History and AnythingEvents and customs that I personally remember, not in a particular order.1. Heyurizens made music albums that you could order. I think that the order site still works but albums have been wiped from internetarchive. Can anyone reupload or link to them? I'm interested in original files. There were two albums.2. There was sort of a craze for Chen from touhou for some time. There are 3 heyurizens proven to have a Chen costume. Later Dejiko stole the title of the most popular catgirl (Opinion).3. We hold (I think) monthly anime streams, anyone can join. It is heavily announced each time in advance. We do not seem to play games together much besides CGI. Heyuri also has a Steam group and a MAL group.4. Tripfagging seems to be alright, but naturally you can associate a tripfag with bad posts if you find them annoying.5. We hold bunkasai each year where heyurizens show off what they do and we play together, tanabata was celebrated last year, and we do collages of christmas with our 2d wives.6. Mascot of Heyuri is Heyuri-tan. wiki.heyuri.net/index.php?title=heyuri-tan and she is a hybrid of multiple moe characters.7. The heyuri spray banner was made by a kid in wisconsin or something, probably made in an abandoned factory8. There was a craze for LOL PENIS and LOLI PENIS, no idea.9. Heyuri tried to make up a word for a german youth word vote, "lolicious".10. Heyuri played minecraft, "Age of Autism" server, and I still have the world save11. We had a desktop thread, 90% of heyuri is on linux it seems12. Azumanga was very popular for a long time, now it seems is not as frequently posted or talked about as it used to be13. Source code for Heyuri is on github.14. Heyuri in general prefers older things (except for lolis).15. It is recommended to be familiar with japanese and japanese stuff for Heyuri.Personal thoughts1. There are people who get angry sometimes and act angry. You either joyously respond to an angry poster or not respond at all.Nobody benefits from cultivating anger. If you made an angry post be sure we forgive you.We all make terrible posts from time to time.2. Old times always feel better because you had more time to tolerate past threads and past movements unlike "new bad times" that have thread and movements you have not started tolerating yet.Being a newb is like childhood in a way, you feel the charm of a wonderful world that you do not understand - you enjoy it instead of having mastered it - and I think it contributes to favoring "old days" where you did not realize there are bad things and had too little information to compare them to in order to determine they are bad. And memory is selective.3. There are newfriends and there will always be.It is a duty of oldfriends to assimilate newfriends. If newfriends don't assimilate it can be usually be attributed to oldfriends failing at passing down culture.Steady influx of new users is a survival condition for every site and there is a peak in every society whose greatness must be watered down by newbs for survival. We either do good on our part as teachers and friends or we fall.Newbs are annoying but that is natural, nothing we can do besides teaching. In worst cases we can only hope that mods ban those who grossly demonstrate they are not interested in participation like rule breaking.ThreadsThreads I liked>>127943 - lucky star rape fantasy>>123266 - chiyo posted>>122926 - triforceSilly threads>>127628 - happy>>126290 - gangsta rap>>125541 - zundamon gets murdered by a heyurizen>>124346 - flag>>124057 - youtube>>120683 - rumia is hungry>>120062 - paranormal>>119566 - konata stripping>>110314 - tanabata >>110692 - heyuri having japan at home>>128419 - christmasI picked them somewhat randomly, there is much more to explore
disregard all above and below posts, just post whatever you want and after getting b& a few times you'll probably figure out what makes the mods butthurtYour fortune: LOLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOL
>Using their lingo in any capacity, unless further heavily justifying context is present (I guess)No, we don't care that much about slang words from nu-internet. We care more about stuff meant to troll other users for self enjoyment. If some slang is only used for the purpose of enraging others, then it's b&. Though I can't think of any off the top of my head. Greentext stories are also banned. >Reposting tiktoks, or other mainstream things if too obnoxious (I think)My litmus test for this is if it doesn't give me a boner, it's gay and deserves to be deleted. Unless it's a hot girl swinging her big tits like a pendulum, get it outta here. But that's just how I deal with it.>Flame wars and ragebaitsThis is covered by Rule 8. I don't have enough time to go thru all of this, so other staff-san can engage with this.
>>138806Nice fortune!
you really didn't have to put your posts in a scroll thing. makes them annoying to read
this is really, really gay
cancer LOLz
>I allow myself to touch taboos for educational purposes.i touch myself for educational purposes LOL
>with all of them being banned and sadly parting ways, I still have most photos saved.this will surely make people listen to rule 0
>>138802This post is very informational thank you!I want to know about /up/!A lot of files have only キタ━━━(゚∀゚)━━━!! as comment with file names being gemu###. Why is it like that. Who named these files? Why are they seemingly unorganized?
>>138830>キタ━━━(゚∀゚)━━━!!appears if you don't type anything for a comment.
>A lot of files have only キタ━━━(゚∀゚)━━━!! as comment with file names being gemu###. Why is it like that. Who named these files? Why are they seemingly unorganized?キタ━━━(゚∀゚)━━━!! is just the default comment text unless you manually enter text into the comment field, its optional to label uploads
>>138833>>138832Oh I'm dumb I see that now.Thank you
u don't need to use scroll tags if the text isn't extremely long I can suggest users to also read the AI-writtenHeyuri: A Comprehensive Overviewclick here: >>134626>-Vtubers (I assume)They r fine>Replying directly to OP in threads used to be a way to get banned, now it seems nobody gets banned for it.It was "Quotelinking OP posts". Like 138830-san did ITT>Heyurizens made music albums that you could order. I think that the order site still works but albums have been wiped from internetarchive. You forgot teh most imp0tant rule - don't post meta threads outside Site Discussion Anywayz, it's impr0tant 2 remembar that certain users have a bigger problem with certain things than the wider userbase or even Heyuri staff-san - that's why it's best to not "lurk x weeks/months/years" since there's a strong chance you'll end up with the wrong impression. Instead, post moar, eat ur bans (which are usually just warnings or fakebans unless ur a regular offender/nuisance), and discuss things on Site Discussion if ur curious>Besides we are too similar to have much differing political views anyway, what is the point of repeating things that everyone agrees on. (Personal opinion)I disagree with teh idea that we all do (or should) share the same political opinions - if things swing so far in one direction that only users of a particular political persuasion are present, we have failed at internet. That's one of the reasons why Rule 7 exists in the first place - so Heyuri doesn't become a one-sided political circlejerk, which sadly happens to too many places these daysSame goes for pr0n tastes for that matter - if there are only lolicons, we have failed; if there are only nijicons, we have failed, etc. The line is usually drawn not at having certain tastes (well, depending on legality...), but rather at attempts to drive away users with tastes u don't like - e.g. flooding an X thread with Y
>>138807there is still a precedent of cultural preference around some phrasings, like with robotshit, but nothing like that is really set in stone or mandatory for fun
>>138803>2. Old times always feel better because you had more time to tolerate past threads and past movements unlike "new bad times" that have thread and movements you have not started tolerating yet. This is only half true. It's pretty clear by careful examination of ancient posts and archives that things have only gotten worse. There are a number of reasons for this, but all I'll say is that "things were indeed better even when they weren't, and I'm not crazy".
There aren't any dark themes on here, but there's apparently some kind of custom theme support. Seems like you're supposed to add it in the settings, where can I find a Heyuri-compatible theme that is somewhat like Tomorrow? Or will I have to flex the little CSS skills I developed for my SpaceHey profile?
>>138878Huh, just pasting the Tomorrow theme from the 4chan source code seemed to do the trick, I thought Heyuri was running on custom imageboard software.
A Tomorrow theme is being added in Teh Overhaul️ (u can demo what we've done so far here: https://cgi.heyuri.net/overhaul/boards/img/ ), but for now just pasting 4chan's will probably suffice - there's probably a lot of crossover with class names despite the software being entirely different
I'm not sure how different the two softwares are. What is Yotsuba based on? I see it uses restno so it seems to derive from futaba.php or at least gazou.php (whichevar introduced that) like KokonotsubaKoko's brief history is at https://kokonotsuba.github.io/history.html
