I've been getting back into playing the PS2 library via emulation, although I do have a real PS2 and a biiiiig stack of discs (many legit even).
There are definitely a lot of games I'm missing out on.

Some of what I've been playing or have played are:
(o) Silent Scope 1 and 2 (they support USB mice natively! shit feels great)
(o) the Tekken games (especially the side modes - Devil Within is super jank in Tekken 5, and I wish my cheapo USB Xinput controller had a better analog stick since it is nowhere near precise enough to do Starblade with)
(o) the Taiko no Tatsujin games (I wish I could plug random USB controllers into the PS2 and they'd work - emulation isn't unplayable, but the latency is... well, it is more than I'd like)
(o) Ape Escape 2 and 3 (I like 3 more than 2; Yumi/Sayaka is ez mode since she gets a bunch of free monkeys that don't run from her, but she's cuter, so I play as her every single time)
(o) Twinkle Star Sprites (the sequel, very cute, very fun, I don't like Load Run's new outfit here but she's not the main character of this game)
(o) Dead or Alive 2 (yes, it's an RPS game, but fuck man, that's fighting games, DOA just makes it really fucking explicit)
(o) Burnout 2 and 3 (god, these games are so fucking good)
(o) the Ace Combats (I've spent the most time with AC4 out of the PS2 games; the AC game I've spent the longest with period was actually AC2 on PS1)

there are definitely a few things I've spent nowhere near as much time as I should have with (in particular, I've played a lot of the PS1 Armored Core games, but basically nothing of the PS2 series)
and surprisingly enough, I've never played any of the God of War games

What does Heyuri like on the PS2?
or fuck, PS1 too

Silent Hill 2, 3, 4.
Practically the only things I played on PCSX2.
Though I've been thinking about playing MGS3, it looks pretty fun and I dig the jungle setting.

never ended up getting into horror games for whatever reason
I think the actual closest I've spent any real amount of time with was Dino Crisis 2, which basically retools Resident Evil mechanics into an outright action game with quickturns and lots of ammo and a kill combo system lol, so not much of a horror game even though it is still very much designed in the same vein anyway

I really should actually play the MGS games... I heard emulating is a pain because they actually use the PS2 pressure sensitive buttons. I do have a real PS2 so like, I have no reason to not play them lol. I thiiiink I have a PS3 controller somewhere too, which would make emulating easier since AFAIK there is a way to get the pressure sensitivity recognized on PC.

I remember being absolutely fucking floored when I found out every main input button other than like start/select/L3/R3 is pressure sensitive on PS2 and PS3 controllers. What fucking maniac designed that?!

Silent Hill never had that problem, but I remember trying to play Castlevania Lament of Innocence and just... not being able to run. IIRC the analog stick is supposed to be sensitive so sharply moving it causes you to break into a run. I gave up just minutes into the game after dicking around trying to figure out why Leon kept walking like a stiff prick the whole time. I even thought that maybe running wasn't available until you reach a certain point but nope, ur supposed to be able to that right out the gate.

It was useful in driving games back when X = accelerate and square = brake was standard. I liek'd it!

it is a neat feature
but it also makes every PS2 controller button feel fairly mushy vs a PS1 dualshock

in fact, I keep a PS1 dualshock around just because it feels that much better for the vast majority of games
especially due to the d-pad, which is also an analog input on the dualshock 2 and is thus really hard to get consistent diagonal inputs on vs a PS1 dualshock since you have to press relatively hard to get it to register in games that treat it as a digital input (so, most of them)

the PS3 DualShock (never had a sixaxis) seems to do something right since it doesn't feel so bad on the d-pad, but it's still a bit mushy overall

PS1: Silent Hill, Crash Bandicoot, Tekken 3, Soul Reaver, Armored Core, Spider-Man, MGS, LSD: Dream Emulator, madafacking PEPSIMAN biggrin

PS2: Silent Hill 2-3, Fatal Frame 1-3, Forbidden Siren 1-2, GOW 1-2 (you have to fucking play GOW, anon.), Armored Core 2, Soul Reaver 2, MGS 2-3, Burnout 3, NFS: Most Wanted, DBZ: BT3, MK: Shaolin Monks, Manhunt, Bully, GTA SA and Vice City.

The PS2 has so many incredible games that it's hard to not just list almost everything released on this fucking console. sweat2
Im currently replaying Fatal Frame. happy

Try Silent Hill on PS1, or specially SH2. If that doesn't instantly hook you into horror like it's crack being snorted from the crack of a loli, nothing will. Sadly starting with SH means you will start at teh very peak of horror games and you will never experience anything as good ever again. It's tough being a horror fan... in general. cry

Though the Fatal Frame trilogy on PS2 is also fucking awesome. ヽ(´∇`)ノ

Tons, but one that comes to mind is Smackdown: HCTP and a couple of the Smackdown VS Raw games after that - they even had a "Bra & Panties" match mode where the goal is to strip your opponent down to her underwear iyahoo

buruchira (annoyingly not pantsu, xiaoyu and her friend do in fact wear gym bloomers)

xiaoyu's T4 outfit is sure something else
honestly, all the T4 designs are kinda weird
I like them, but I would not be surprised if people were baffled

too lazy to go retake this in hardware rendered mode, I thought I did take a screenshot in HW mode
