It's really shitty how emojis began to be standardized with unicode. Now you can't escape them, cuz they come already shipped in with already OS you're using.
fuk u i got my smileys
It's all the same thing. The biggest mistake was standardization of emojis in Unicode like >>131944 said. Supporting them is no longer a choice, their graphics are inconsistent between OS and browsers, they have less individuality than custom emotes, there's all kinds of political agendas in there, it makes Unicode itself way more bloated, fonts now feel obligated to support them and font renderers and text parsers are more complicated, etc.
Emoji is a little feature meant to make text more lively and fun, just like kaomoji/or custom smileys you had in all forums. It was only ever intended for japanese/superior audience. ofc the buttfuckers of the west corrupted it, but they do that with everything.
Emoji are just convenient, universally-compatible smileys - teh problem was always the way that Western tech companies redesigned them to look liek p00p Heyuri (an technological marvel) solve it by replacing them with glorious Softbank 2004 emoji set!
when i had an imageboard i set almost all unicode emoji as an automatic permanent ip range ban and it set a cookie to autoban another range if the offender tried to circumvent it, all those that could circumvent it were not chased further because they prove they were not raised as phonefags with no knowledge of basic mechanismswestern sideways emotes were fine and so were vertical nip emotesbut the lazy and obnoxious unicode emojis were a death sentence i hate it that almost everything turns my emotes into emojis when i want to send a :P or B)
virtual reality is so much better than the old emoticon
>i hate it that almost everything turns my emotes into emojis when i want to send a :P or B)Yes, this is really fucking retarded
is there even an alternative to unicode? ASCII?
>>131994ASCII doesn't support Japanese. (╥_╥)It may not even be possible to make a website with something other than Unicode. If you don't want emoji then it would be easier to block unwanted characters than try to replace Unicode.
(╥_╥)
