How often do you watch anime that is at least 20 years old vs newer stuff?Marked for deletion (Old)
EVERY DAY
N00b here and i don't watch anime a lot, but so far most shows i've watched were around 20 years old or older (゚ー`)
Last anime i watched was Haibane Renmei, and now i'm going through Cowboy Bebop
newer shows make me wanna puke, especially those that center around a gimmick, and it seems like it's the majority nowadays
Anime from the 2000s has always been my main jam, but I've enjoyed my occasional forays into stuff from the 80s & 90s tooI used to follow currently-airing anime around the late 2000s - early 2010s, but I got increasingly turned off by it until I stopped altogether. These days I pretty much only watch anime during Heyuri Cytube
both of the anime I'm watching right now are from the 80s lol
Shows I've finished by year of release:1982: 11983: 11984: 11985: 31986: 21987: 71988: 51989: 41990: 51991: 31992: 31993: 31994: 41995: 101996: 51997: 61998: 101999: 72000: 102001: 52002: 152003: 122004: 82005: 132006: 162007: 252008: 192009: 152010: 152011: 232012: 292013: 392014: 182015: 132016: 152017: 112018: 12*anime falls off a cliff and dies*2019: 22020: 22021: 42022: 52023: 72024: 4So it seems the glory days at least to my taste was between the mid 00s and the early 10s.
I personally love 90s anime
I actually only watched a few anime from the 1980s. I'm planning on watching more, but I never seem to have enough time What I did watch:– Everything from Ghibli– Akira– Ranma– Angel Egg– Urusei Yatsura (only the TV Series)...oh, and some episodes of Dragonball back in my childhood
>>129520>20 years ago was 2005I thought all my stuff was considered new and fist of the north star and robotech was the old stuff...

Heyuri is ahead of the times!!!!
I mostly watch sci-fi from the 80s and 90s although I have seen other types of anime from newer times. I'm currently watching Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (Legend of the Galactic Heroes) and it's really good. I love military drama, and the main characters are all thought out and believable. It's not easy to make a show with so many characters and have most of them be memorable. I consider the 80s-90s to be the height of anime. But there are still shows being made that are good. I just think the pacing and writing of most of the shows made back are of a higher quality as compared to the 00s-10s. The look of cel animation and the style of sci-fi aesthetics back then also personally appeals to me. Not to say there weren't shitty, low-quality anime being produced back then, I just think the good shows made are generally superior to the good shows being made now.
1999-2009 was the height of moe. I hope someday there will be a second cumming of moe.
>>129520I want to get into more of the older series, especially the famous ones, to establish a basis of reference. But so much of it is derivative or mecha/robot shit. I can't get into it at all. Chicks might dig giant robots but I don't
I can't trust anyone who doesn't like mecha. They are never above suspicion. ( ´ω`)
>>129828And I don't trust people who use social media past the age of 18
>>129831honestly, I can get behind that ┐(゚~゚)┌
