The other day I completed Mafia: Definitive Edition. It was "OK", but it doesn't have any of the charm of the original
>>
puzzle games and IIDX mostly
Emeraldia is lots of fun, even if I wish it had two rotate buttons instead of just one, and the speed up gets obscene if you play too long on one credit
Pnickies is really great as a vs game but the single player mode is kind of lame and doesn't have CPU opponents ヽ(`Д´)ノ

IIDX remains eternally fun ヽ(´∇`)ノ
pressing buttons to music feels good, spinning the turntable feels legit as fuck
kinda want to put some time into playing doubles, but I don't have any setup at home to attempt it, so I'd just need to embarrass myself in public at the arcade until I get it
I need to play more 7s, I'm doing 6s very effectively now

I looked up what IIDX is and it seems like fairly extravagant for the usual american or european arcade. I assume you're one of those anons living in Japan

Lately I dug up my old Xbox, obtained a nice tube tv and have been checking out some games I didn't play back then. Right now I'm playing Panzer Dragoon Orta. It's alright, haven't really tried to get into rail shooters before. Might just replay Ninja Gaiden again.

nah, Round 1, the big Japanese arcade chain has a US branch and a bunch of locations
I basically only go for IIDX and Sound Voltex, since 90% of the floor is claw machines
also, DDR, but I have no stamina so I don't play much

the nice thing is they're online enabled machines, so you actually get all the shit that's locked to having a network connection, online play (SDVX battles are great), songs, timed events, etc

wow you are literally me
i recently started playing puyo puyo and i love it
havent been playing iidx so im terrible now. i only played doubles a few times ever and i cant even clear 2s.

I'm terrible at puyo... I can do a 7 chain if I get everything perfect and my field is empty...
and maybe I can get a 4 chain once or twice after lol

just noticed your filename
are you playing IIDX on Linux

how well does it work
>>
>>128295
no i was using a virtual machine
it works okay if you passthrough all the relevant devices: graphics, audio, and input. i never tried using wine for it.
>>128293
the feeling of improvement is very satisfying. sadly, i dont have friends who play these games with me.

>sadly, i dont have friends who play these games with me

It's nice to have friends who plays the same game but playing it for yourself is better off. I don't recommend associate with iidx community though. Big mistake I made.

the nice thing about rhythm games is that above all, they are extremely single player experiences
you do not need to interact with the rhythm game "community" for any reason, apart from maybe finding arcade data lol

it's not like with fighting games where if you aren't just going on ranked forever, you do have to interact with the FGC (which at least wasn't so bad, although I've been out of things for a few years, shit could have gone mad in that time)

when i mentioned that i didnt have friends to play with, i meant for puyo puyo
it seems like a game that is more fun to play with people similar to how tetris is for me
i played more hours on nullpomino but i cant deny that versus tetris is more fun

Yes, I just didn't realized this to myself until 2021 that I don't really need to interact with the community. I'm basically on my own most of the time. I do have close friends who came from there though. Good example about fighting game by the way!
