There is no such thing as a coincidence. It may be two months past the spooky season, but any day is a good day for Castlevania! ヽ(´∇`)ノ

How did you like IV? I played past the first couple levels then got stuck around the treasure room(?) or the cave with the mudmen, I can't remember which it was.

Well, maybe not suck, but i do feel it actually pales in comparison to Castlevania: Bloodlines. IV feels more like a carnival ride of ideas than something with a tight gameplay design. I could elaborate further but here's the abridged version:

Super Castlevania = Ice cream

Bloodlines = Meat and potatoes

I never quite got the adoration for the soundtrack in this game. It's not bad, but it's too "soft" for me. Sounds more like something from an RPG, when to me Castlevania should be all about RAWKING OUT. This is still one of the best songs on the NES:
