Turns out it has been 10 years since the last Castlevania release and 15-16 since anything that could be considered mainline sweat

2008 - Castlevania: Order of Eclessia

2009 - Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth

2014 - Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2

And yet, Castlevania doesn't have an air of being in a ditch unlike other legacy series. Hell, Metal Gear feels more forgotten about despite MGS 5 releasing on 2015. Maybe it was because of the netflix show or due to how the older titles are remembered or because how omnipresent the term metroidvania is.

Yeah... ( ´,_ゝ`)
Igarashi tried to come back with Bloodstained after leaving Konami (of which i now realize there were three entries, what the fuck? unsure) but it didn't really stick

From what I hear nowadays, it's widely regarded to be trash along with its sequel for deviating from the source canon a bit. Though when it first came out, I remember a lot of hype surrounding it. Probably because barely anything had been done with the series at the time, so many were eager to see anything Konami would sign off on that wasn't another pachinko machine. I liked the first two seasons, but it fell off a bit after that. Felt like they didn't know what to do after Dracula died and had to rush together a plot of what happened after. I still kind of enjoy it but I see it more as its own thing completely divorced from the source material S2 onwards. C+ for effort (・∀・)

They're doing that remake of MGS3, last I heard. Make of that what you will, I don't have much to comment on it. ┐(゚~゚)┌

*Quite a bit. Meant to say quite a bit. As in, a lot. Like a metric fuckton. (^Д^)

From what i've experienced, Netflix either goes for a bunch of unnecessary seasons or just a singular inconclusive one, no in-between

I mean Konami likes to milk their franchises in the easiest way possible, so of course they jumped head first in the Resident Evil 2 bandwagon of homogenous remakes. Honestly, though, the audience is the one at fault for buying them.
