4chan, mootxico, occasionally zzz, lately found strdy, used to check on nanochan but that imageboard gets 1 post per month, i'm sure the post i made a year ago is still the last post of the thread, i came across the name "onionchan" during my research but apparently finding the link is impossible or it's already taken down, sometimes i go on endchan which is mostly fine with a couple very specific boards loli also visited a tf2-themed imageboard which i think is mostly women due to the amount of gay ships i saw and it also is nearly dead, i found a very weird bbs, can't remember the name, upon entering i saw that everyone was freaking out about bees, went on sushichan like once and saw that it is completely dead, some heyuri sister sites which didn't pique my interest (sorry!), i'd like to browse lainchan more but people there are too tech-savvy and it makes me feel like i'm stupid, probably some more that i can't remember right nowi'd like to browse 2chan but i don't know japanese, tried learning it but hiragana is hard to memorize (i dare not imagine how hard katakana is )>>110066ALARM! IRUYEHZEN SPOTTED!!!
>i don't know japanese, tried learning it but hiragana is hard to memorize (i dare not imagine how hard katakana is )if you think those are hard just wait until you find out what kanji is lol XD
>>110074but i was told kanji is not needed to understand most japanese!!
>>110076>but i was told kanji is not needed to understand most japanese!!not him, but you will pretty much need kanji to lern. im not sure wai you were told that... unless they are a saboteur
>>110071>i found a very weird bbs, can't remember the name, upon entering i saw that everyone was freaking out about beesLOL
>>110078do you know japanese? what's the best way to learn?in my previous attempt i downloaded hiragana sheets and tried learning how to write each "letter" (also memorizing the stroke order)>>110083i just revisited it and I think it was probably a spam attack, some bee threads still survive though
>>110088>what's the best way to learn?whatever works best for you of course . Just maek sure not 2 ignore stuff liek kanji, since you'll haev to use it eventually
>>110088>in my previous attempt i downloaded hiragana sheets and tried learning how to write each "letter" (also memorizing the stroke order)Not him, but u should get over hiragana/katakana first day (week if ur slow) of Japanese...Then you won't have them 100% mastered, but it'd take actually getting comfortable reading basic hiragana/katakana a few months if not years so don't wait for it to proceed to lerning kanji. You could even do without independently studying those, it's impossible to not learn them if you study anything in Japanese at all.I recommend thishttps://djtguide.github.io/learn/guide.htmlhttps://djtguide.github.io/grammar/taekim.html#_Hiraganaalso for independent studyhttps://djtguide.github.io/learn/kana.html
isolated*While on it, isolated study of Kanji is also usually not recommended
I have a bookmark folder thing with lots of them, i check all of them for new posts occasionally.Still mainly just heyuri, i don't use 4chan that much anymore( ´,_ゝ`)
i used to use 4chan (mostly /i/ and /a/ after a while) but lost interest for a bit. found this board by chance through the oekaki board (don't remember how i found that though) and really like the community here. i don't know of any other image boards or forums atm, but it would be nice to find more.>>110088even if you don't know/recognize any characters, i feel like trying to transcribe/translate doujinshi/comics from pixiv or manga or literature or text posts will help you pick up on stuff, while having a hiragana/katakana chart open if you're unfamiliar with them. using sites like jisho/tangorin to find and translate words/kanji, deepL translator, the list of kanji by stroke count from wikipedia, jadednetwork's list of japanese SFX, etc.there was a big list of resources that i used to have bookmarked, but i lost it :( in my search to try and find it, i found this https://tatsumoto-ren.github.io/ which seems rather interesting. scrolling down this thread, djt guide also looks good and i think that was the site i was remembering although it looks different from when i last saw it.
the complete version of djtguide used to be on itazuraneko.neocities but it's removed by neocities few months ago
the only other imageboards I frequent are prolikewoah.com/animu/ and guro.cx/s/>>110088I just found this site https://wotaku.moe/japan/language which also links to every other guide in existence
>>110083They found teh beeBS!
thank you everyone for the suggestions for learning japanese!!>>110103loooool
lainchan on rare occasion but it pisses me off too much (;´Д`)then there's nashi and prodefch but I found out about both from hereused to mostly to go on 4chan if I'm honest, haven't been much of an alt-chan guy in agesdropped 4chan because it's shit and no one wants to actually talk about anything very long ago, I used to go on 7chan, 711chan, renchan (long gone loli board), iichan, and a few others I can't remember right now(´人`)
really just 711chan (assuming there's no cp spam) and prodefch. not many good imageboards anymore
>>110071> tried learning it but hiragana is hard to memorizeAre you a troll? You certainly are. Kana is hella easy to memorize, it took me a week to memorize it and I still can read it 5 years later (I haven't studied much ever since). Don't get me wrong, I read it very slowly, at a rate of a 7 y.o. kid, but I do recognize every character/combination quite easily.Kanji characters aren't that big a deal either as long as you recognize the most popular radicals. This way you can always draw the kanji at the jisho.org and look up for the unknown word.Grammar is the thing that makes Japanese so damn hard (the same applies to other foreign language, I believe). Fucked up counters, differences between the colloquial and formal speech, etc. will drive you crazy. Good luck!
/tea/ and kissu, but I'm not using either much at the moment as am not currently NEETing. I'm doing farm work 8 hours a day 7 days a week over the summer, so there's not much time for imageboards and I have enough company from my fellow peasants for the time being.
>>110063Almost none. Almost all of them suck except Heyuri. I only use 4chan for boards like /c/, /e/, and /h/ to collect pictures. I almost never even read /jp/ anymore. Nothing wrong with that, though, honestly. I spend a lot more time doing fun things like playing video, drawing, making videos, and so on when not addicted to a thousand other imageboards.
>>110160I've been missing /tea/ sessions lately due to bad timing... I'll get home sometimes or remember to join terribly close to closing time.
>>110172You could set an alarm! I considered sneaking my phone into the fields to attend tea time but I don't think I would get away with it.
>>110160Kissu and /tea/ are the two big ones 4 me as well. Besides the infrequent lurking of misc. boards, I also visit yakui.moe from time to time. I liek it, but they get hit by spam that they don't clean up. Sadly, a problem that's all too common; spam + inactive admins/mods (;´Д`)>>110172Watashi mo... ( ´,_ゝ`)I really ought to catch the next session, at least in the afternoon, since I know I won't be awake early enough for the morning session.
>>110177The yakui.moe one seems to have some [s4s] namefigs using it.
