In my experience, western fanartists always had a very unappealing artstyle compared to the japanese, over years and years, only a small minority raised to the top in quality.

Nowadays AI can produce on-model, non cringeworthy, and very appealing artwork of western characters, which fulfills a content gap.

Now, western artists could make a fuss and scream about how much they deserve the business, but if their art sucked to begin with, they werent going to get the business in the first place.
I think theyre complaining less about AI, and more about the fact that people have an alternative to whatever sub par thing theyre providing is.

This notion that anything you make has inherent value is meaningless, a person can make a sculpture of shit, just because a human made it, doesnt mean anything. doesnt make it special. （ ´,_ゝ`）

Likewise, a robot could make something so appealing it resonates with the viewer in the same way human made art might. Doesnt matter where it comes from, what matters is its appeal to the viewer.
Also, if anyone has ever used a local AI model you would find that its actually a skill in itself to make something look "good" and people can spend hours upon hours adjusting node structures or prompts to make something decent.

i appreciate peoples hand drawn art, and i like AI art too.
I think its really special when someone makes art themselves.
But i also believe that AI art is technically a human creation as well, someone conceived of the image and assembled the node trees etc.

problems with AI art: I was too lazy to download a lora to give her more pubic hair but other than that it turned out perfect
problems with human art: I'm too lazy to draw anything that takes more than 3 mins or to invest any time into improving drawing skill

I don't mind 2 fap to AI images, however what i really haet about AI is teh 10000000s of AI generated videos on Youtube with AI voices, AI scrips, music & video. It's boring and dull. And by today, with Veo3 & Sora2, u can almost not tell whats real or not. Which itself kills originality and this kills teh internet. It's a downfall of originality and motivation.

AI sympathizers really do not appreciate the merit of human thought and effort at all
AI is not the same as human art because human art has a lot of subconscious small touches, and things along the way that make it have some parts of the original person who made it in the piece.
AI anime art has a monotonous style or is prompted to take an existing artists style as well as disrespecting artists by not training the models off of art of people who said yes to it. Something I feel like sours the taste of it immediately.
AI does not think like humans, and is not comperable to real art even with prompting it. If you were to make a take on Star Wars or think of a picture of it it would turn out a bit different, with your own touches and nuances. In AI, it will literally just spit out screenshots.

Illustrations, music, videos, animations, games, etc. - many of which we have enjoyed or even revere - are often made using pirated software, stolen assets, and hijacked ideas. This is especially true when it comes to photoshops, image macros, flashes, etc.

Even if someone thinks they're being squeaky-clean by (for example) purchasing music sample/loop packs or paying for photoshop brushes, the people who compiled those collections almost always used copyrighted material that wasn't cleared

I believe that, in a perfect world, copyright wouldn't exist. We'd all just be free to share, create, and transform whatever we wanted, rather than risk getting pwned by some rich cunts who insist that ideas = property
