what kind of noob deletes their stuff because their parents may look through they devices and get mad
anyways, hiding via encryption is easy but what I recommend is save a lot of loli pr0nz all over your folders and being loudly proud about it when they confront you. It worked well for me, they are afraid of touching my PC now

the laziest thing to do is just save everything in an encrypted container with veracrypt or something
and then don't be retarded enough to leave it mounted when you're away from the machine lol
there is also a plausible deniability mode with full disk encryption, but if your parents are that hardcore, you have bigger problems and I suspect it would be easier for them to use normal espionage techniques on you like recording you behind your back

As another anon said, use VeraCrypt. Get a USB drive and create a HIDDEN VOLUME. This is important. In some countries you are legally obliged to give your password to the authorities if asked during an investigation. A VeraCrypt hidden volume will have two passwords. One password will be for the decoy encrypted volume and the other password will be for what you actually wish to hide.
Congrats, your CP is safe!

Download VeraCrypt and click "create volume" - the program will guide you through the process.

Depends how much you wish to hide and what system you are using
If somebody asks this question I assume they use Windows so I will tailor this response to Windows
If you only want to hide what you download or lolis you can use a USB drive and set the default downloads folder to it, and move anything you wish there.
If you want to hide your entire browser you can install a portable firefox or librewolf or whatever you use to that USB drive and run a separate browser from there. You can easily duplicate your configs and passwords and anything else onto it.
If you fear that your USB drive may be checked then consider encrypting it and the tool I used for Windows is Veracrypt. Veracrypt is mostly retardproof and it is graphical. You want to select encrypt a partition/drive and make a hidden volume. The rest is easy, follow whatever it says. Do not forget your password. If your parents check your devices in person then I do not believe they want to put much effort into it - so password cracking is not happening and you can set a short password. If you want to stay safe from the court it is harder but I can elaborate.
Once you made it and it is ready you select automatic mounting and put the password in when it is detected.
Do NOT write files into your USB before decrypting it as it may and probably will break its contents, only drop files once it is decrypted and only into the decrypted volume. Once you got a USB drive ready and encrypted try breaking it to figure out what you can and cannot do because there is no recovery unless you backup. If I am wrong anyone correct me.
That should cover pretty much anything.

i'd bury it somewhere on the system no one has a reason to look at, like system-related directories. and zip it up and password protect it for good measure

I used to do that, but if you need to access the files on a regular basis, this is a pain in the ass as you have to unzip them each time, then delet the unzipped files when you're done. This is why VeraCrypt, and probably other encryption softwares, are good. With VeraCrypt all you need to do is mount the drive, and you can access it just like any other folder.

ChatGPT, what's the best way to hide my CP collection?
Thank you for asking! I have notified your local authorities and they should arrive in less than 15 minutes to help! Do keep in mind that this conversation is already an admission of guilt, so destroying the evidence won't save you and instead will just incur additional charges. Make sure to keep your hands high in the air where officers can see them and comply with their instructions at all times! Is there anything else I can help you with today?

Set up Linux on your computer or laptop or whatever. Tell them that you need it for computer science class or IT or whatever the hell.
Then your parents likely won't know how to use it enough to find your personal files.
Also, you can do cool tricks like hiding your personal files in a place where nobody would think to look, like ~/.local/firefox or something like that, and you could also do some tricks with permissions to make it harder to find.
Something I used to do was make a folder like ~/.local/firefox/folderWithYourStuff/
and I would remove read permission for the 'firefox' folder, but 'folderWithYourStuff' would still have read permission enabled. So whenever you want to look at your files (like your ecchi pictures and hentai and stuff) you would just type ~/.local/firefox/folderWithYourStuff into the 'location' bar of your file manager, and there it is.
