how is Shizuku? Thats one of Leafs first novel i think? I dont know much about it expect the OST from it which i enjoy a lot.

it is indeed leaf's first! not just that, its the first game marketed as a visual novel. the girls are very cute, the music is great (im using FM), and the writing is rlly interesting so far (i only did 2 endings so far). very short so i reccomend also i think i fixed the name thing..

what is fm? also, do you emulate some software on your ds? I used some weird DS emulater on my PS vita for Tsukihime. It worked! ^^

i meant im using FM audio instead of MIDI for the BGM pretty sure the emulator im using cant even reproduce MIDI...
im using a 3ds port for neko project 2 (a pc98 emulator, u can play anything except toho, only HRTP runs fine)
from what ive seen, it should b around 10 hours or so... so far i completed a 15 minutes ending (LOL?) and a 3 hours ending. my fav gal so far is indeed ruriko (ﾟー｀) shes kinda kuudere-esque and i loev kuuderes.

oh fm audio? U plug in teh sounds into a radio? Is that what u mean?

i've 2 admit i am no dere-expert. but kuudere is cute in their quietness! I imagine Ruriko was one just from looking at her. I am thinking of what i liek, but idk, i like outgoing easy happy with tons of positive feelings, i guess? so deredere? maybe.

the emulator can reproduce music that uses FM synthesis, because that type of sound is generated mathematically by the sound chip itself, it can simulate those calculations directly...
MIDI, on the other hand, doesnt contain actual sound, its just instructions for an external sound device (like a MIDI module) to play notes. so the emulator cant easily reproduce MIDI music unless it’s connected to a separate MIDI synthesizer.. it can also use the system itself but thatd take a lot of ram or smith. its a shame cus the MIDI bgm sounds much better! ill see if theres a way to make it work.

on Linux at least it works with xnp21kai + timidity. but I remember spending a lot of time on finding a good soundfont for SC55 (the midi synth they wrote the BGM for). they say you can't emulate it perfectly but I found this works well enough: https://up.heyuri.net/src/5448.7z

unfortunately its no use on 3ds but its whatever i like playing on handheld so its a good compromise, the FM soundtrack has its charm ill surely listen 2 the entire BGM on youtube when im done with the game!

u need to download Leaf.zip and youll find the game there
u should also download BIOS.zip and find bios.rom somewhere in there, ull need to slap that into the root of the emulators folder (if ure using neko project at least)
