We will watch Abenobashi Mahou☆Shoutengai (2002) this Saturday 18:00 UTC [Info] [Countdown]

My daughter's birthday is coming up, she's going to be 9 soon. What should I get her as a present?

She's a bit tomboyish and interested in science. I was thinking I would get her a telescope so we can look at the stars together. There are ones that are under $150, but are they any good? I've never used a telescope before. I was also thinking I would get her a little plastic terrarium thing and a net so we can go catch bugs and frogs and things.
>>
Sounds liek u have great ideas already ヽ(´ー`)ノ

If you go the telescope route, consider getting a kid's book on astronomy or something so she'll have a better idea of what to look for

the terrarium is an awesome idea, just make sure you document your daddy daughter pokemon adventures

That's a great idea. I was also just thinking I should get a book to identify the bugs we catch too, hopefully one that has facts about them too and nice illustrations. Maybe a cute notebook + pen too specifically for documenting what she finds.

Just what I was thinking! She already has a magnifying glass too.

watch Ruri no Houseki with her to become mineralogy experts, then you can also look for shiny rocks while looking for bugs
>>
Me! Put me in an XXL present box and give it to her!

Is it a wholesome anime? Like, no panty shots or anything right? I actually used to be interested in rocks as a kid myself. I used to have books on them and I'd collect them.

>>176633
Hmmmm we'd have to get you snipped. ✂ Still want to?

I don't remember any panty shots but here's a 4 min sample including the most fanservicey scene I remember, and there are no male characters so it's not like she's gonna see anything she wouldn't see in a girls' locker room
>>

Well alright, but I doubt she'll like it. She thinks slice of life anime is boring. Except for AnoHana, which she loved, but it made her bawl her eyes out. She likes Sailor Moon.
>>
i really like the terrarium idea, it'd a be fun and cute activity for you two to do ( ´ω`)
>just make sure you document your daddy daughter pokemon adventures
yeah! (´人`)

Doesn't watching romance shows make her depressed if she doesn't have a lover yet? Or does she think of her dad as her husband? Or maybe she hasn't hit puberty yet so she's not interested in men at all?

ugh real children have sharp nipples for that brief peroid of time?
>>
>>176665
yes, for a moment during puberty their nipples are way bigger compared to this as a whole and their tits are more like pyramids rather than round meat sacks, have you never looked at kids? :nyaoo2:

buy her a mineralogy/geology book. She can explore anything anywhere. The Audubon series of books for animals are great as well, as are field guides to your local climate
>>
>>176634
there is a deafening lack of them (´~`)
