What is the world gonna do? Just like in school whoever is the biggest makes rules for others, and does not follow them himself.

Western Europe got conquered and was got overdependent on USA after WW2, now it expanded to all of Europe besides Russia and Belarus and other minor places.
Japan and Korea are USA property with designated puppet constitutions, Taiwan can't refuse anything from America or they are gone.

Africa depends on UN aid and many regions need UN control which is administered effectively solely by the USA and they employ their foreign minions in blue helmets to bring American order to third world so that American men are free from such lowly duties and they can conquer more while their minions keep for them what is already theirs. Romans go onwards to coneuqer more, leaving behind recently conquered tribes to watch over one another on their behalf.

Saudi Arabia and all oil arabs fear USA militarily destroying their oil trade any day because their prices are set and fake, USA rules middle east and grants arabs lease on power as long as they stay in line which they prove in recent decades. South America fears USA too much to do stuff that would anger them.

Even Turkey stays in line with America. India does not argue with America much. Thailand feels like an American province, southeast Asia also does not dare anger America. All of Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia depend on USA to survive except maybe Papua New Guinea because the state ends like 10 kilometers from the coast. Australia and New Zealand have zero military capacity. The Carribean know their place and allow US military presence without asking questions. Has America hit critical mass yet?

Canada is so dependent on USA, it effectively is the 51st state. USA and Canada is like Russia and Belarus or like China and Hong Kong - one is the master and the other is a fake country that acts as a proxy for the big dog to evade consequences, granting it just enough of ability for self-determination to not make it completely obvious that one owns the other.

They can take Venezuela because they can. They can take Greenland and they would not be punished. America owns Hormus. America can own Panama Canal any day and people of Panama can't do anything. If Europe gets angry about military takeover of Greenland USA can just ban export of all electronics, medicine, technology, and food with Europe and forbid their other minions to trade with them, then appropriate all assets of Europe and Europeans stored in USA and put a travel ban on Europeans. In a decade Europe will either collapse, turn to a totalitarian nightmare so that they can make up for loss of American trade with extracting everything from their own people making it a continent-wide gulag, or they can submit to China and get an even worse treatment from Chinese masters. Europe will not react much after the initial anger settles. Cuba is a decent place for a takeover and a penal colony, American control of Guantanamo Bay already prove that there is no human rights when America wants there to be none. Why not expand it over a bigger area and dump everyone opposing USA there and work them to death like gulags or concentration camps? Very pragmatic from an American view. Genocides are prohibited on paper but USA has the most military which makes them most immune to international law, keep that in mind. Nothing will protect you once your government sells you to USA.

I mean, that really depends on how you view America's actions before they started becoming an international player around the turn of the 20th century. Or how you judge America based on current international laws and if you choose to apply that to the past. Does the whole Manifest Destiny thing of killing the natives and taking their land make them a good guy? And if that doesn't count since it was fought on land they claimed, what about invading the recently liberated Philippines to make them a territory? That too came with the rhetoric of needing to "civilize" the population. Later, during WW1, German speakers were harassed, antagonized, even outed for speaking on the telephone in German. The same happened to French speakers in Louisiana, only without the justification of being at war with the tongue's mother country. And that's just the stuff that has to do with nationalism and international politics, you already know how it goes with the slavery and lynching of blacks and whatnot.
We could really go on, but America's present is more consistent with their past two centuries ago. A cynical take, but maybe the US is actually returning to its natural behavior and the period between WW1 and the end of the Cold War was an err - a brief lapse in foreign policy. ┐(ﾟ～ﾟ)┌

I think it's foolish to blindly trust in a nation state with international reach and assume it will always be "good" - maybe a smaller country like Georgia or Nepal will be more predictable but they don't have the same global standing as the US does.

As a Canadian I agree. You are correct in your assessment that the West generally and parts of Asia are under U.S. hegemony - essentially protectorates of an empire. When Trumpu-sama threatened to annex us, everyone here was very, very upset. I just shrugged and thought about the same things you're saying and said, do they really not know this? What difference would it make? We are economically dependent upon the US, but we started trading with China and India moar after the tariffs. Though if we got too close to China, I'm sure they really would invade us. (;ﾟДﾟ) So we are on a leash, and can only make decisions for ourselves to the degree that America-kun allows it.

And for what it's worth, what would change for me if my province became an American state? I'm a NEET living on disability money for my mental illnesses. Unlike America's social security system, which is administered by the federal government, in Canada neetbux is handled by the provincial governments. Every province has a different system, and this makes it impossible for me to live in a different province. (´ー`) You might be surprised to learn that American NEETs also get significantly moar money than I do!! ヽ(`Д´)ノ And if I became an American, I would have the rights guaranteed by God in the Constitution. This means that even despite my long and well-documented history of severe mental health issues, I would be able to OWN A FUCKING GUN!! Looking up prices for the Hi-Point C-9, $100-$150 U.S., I could afford that easily! So basically nothing would change in my life except that I would be free to live in any state, make moar $$$ and be strapped.
