i remember hearing that americans have a unique propensity to war and violence because they have never seen the horrors of war on their own soil. there has never been an american verison of the rape of nanking, nuking of hiroshima, siege of leningrad, bombing of dresden, etc. americans view war like reality television, as dumb teenagers getting a free trip to the middle east. last time the us drafted soldiers was over 50 years ago. last major battle on us soil was well over 100 years ago. closest thing is pearl harbor and 9/11 but those arent even close to the other horrors i mentioned.

The American people seem fairly easy to propagandise into wanting war, but they tend to get cold feet once the body bags start returning home. Fighting wars so far from home as a world superpower definitely makes the idea more tempting too

it mostly seems to be young americans who get cold feet. boomers and the like have no issue with the body bags. and america is only getting older. just look at all the failed war protests. the vietnam war protests didnt result in shit other than letting boomer druggies link up with other boomer druggies. iraq war protests literally birthed the stereotype of the "twitter activist" who doesnt do shit other than retweet anti war news articles. america will always be at least >50% pro war unless some massive warcrimes occur on us soil against americans.

The holocaust occured in my nation and numerous other war crimes and I also have a unique propensity to war. Lets have a war! Whats so bad about wars anyway? Are you afraid of loud noises?

i know you are joking but the one good thing about war is it allows infrastructure to be completely overhauled. its one of the reasons east asia/europe has better public transit than the usa.
