In the west, saging a thread is often taken as an offensive action. This wasn't supposed to be the case. Not bumping the thread when you have nothing significant to contribute was considered good manners

I propose we bring back puchippy, but instead of her being annoying, make her useful. Like, when a user is about to reply to an old thread that hasn't been bumped in a while, she could say "Are you sure you want to bump this thread? Please consider sageing if your contribution is not important"

That's only really a thing on 2ch/5ch - and even then, it's mostly for off-topic discussions, and it's not universal or taken super seriously

What I meant to say is that it was never really a thing in Japan outside of 2ch/5ch and its closely-related off-shoots. You'll rarely see it on Futaba-style imageboards, and other forms of BBS typically don't even have such a feature

Not only do I never seed torrents, sometimes I delete the file and download it again just for fun. Even at ALDI I don't return the cart because the humiliation of whoever will is worth more to me than the quarter. When I see a wall in a public restroom that doesn't have shit smeared on it or a floor that isn't covered with piss I just see it as an opportunity, a blank canvas. A soap dispenser that hasn't had all the soap emptied all over the sink and floor, a roll of toilet paper or paper towels that isn't floating in the toilet bowl? Just another exploitable target for my amusement.
