obesity is so cheap to treat in 2026
i wonder why anyone is fat at all
>>

healthy food is more expensive than ever, what are you talking about?

he thinks ozempic is like magic

just eat less
your average American eats a 500-600cal meal 3x a day, with a 100-200cal drink,
and then has snacks between them
of course they're getting fat
if they were consistently on the low end of that range, it wouldn't be so bad, you'd very slowly gain weight over the years and some days you'd definitely have a lower caloric intake vs what your body used
but most people just don't even attempt to care and thus are always at the upper end, or even further beyond

hell, if you eat out at a restaurant, you can literally have 1500cal in one meal (big 1000cal meal+multiple soda refills)
even if you only eat twice that day (a 600cal meal and a 100cal drink), you're way above 2000 calories for the day

obesity is a disease distinct from malnutrition.

ozempic is old tech, and frankly not that good. all it does is suppress appetite which is the least useful aspect of that class of medications. what obese people need are medications that address defective hormonal signalling for better functioning metabolism. in particular new GLP-1 medications aggressively target specific aspects of metabolic dysfunction like bias towards insulin resistant tissues for fat storage/unhealthy fat depots. it also mitigates chronic inflammation from adipose dysfunction and the new generation of meds eliminate lethargy and reduced cognitive function in calorie deficit.

both my parents are on ozempic, and it doesnt change your physical appearance much!…i think it just stops your appetite?┐(゚~゚)┌

ozempic only targets one receptor, and it does so aggressively. it mainly slows gastric emptying with some effects on insulin sensitivity and inflammation.

mounjaro adds a second target receptor, which increases lipid release from adipocytes. this tends to increase speed of fat loss from unhealthy tissues in particular.

the new main drug retatrutide adds a third target receptor, along with dramatic improvements to its effects on the second receptor. it increases your base metabolism substantially, increases fat freeing from adipose, and theres reports that even holding your body weight on it can produce substantial changes in body composition from these effects. its reported as being able to cure fatty liver disease within 3-6 months of treatment.

we are seriously underestimating the significance of these medications as a culture for our overall health, particularly as we age. type 2 diabetes might well be eradicated.
>>
the inflammation changes on GLP-1 medications are also super interesting, they appear to be second in class only to corticosteroids and we may in future prescribe them for chronic inflammatory conditions and even relief from autism like symptoms.

🇺🇸 durr i need pillz that let me eat as many deep fried corn syrup patties and drink as much sugar as i want everyday, the pillz will surely eliminate all consequences of consuming 500 grams of sugar and saturated fat daily 🇺🇸🗽
>>

yes ☺

why deal with the flaws of nature that stop you from solely eating nothing but deep fried potato bacon cheese balls covered in syrup while having a XXL Coke
this is the truest representation of American FREEDOM ヽ(´∇`)ノ

let the hideous light of progress hypermetabolize away your dietary issues with just a pill ヽ(´∇`)ノ

leave your old problems behind
step forward into the future for completely new problems, unknown to nature ヽ(`∇´)ノ

it takes a particularly obtuse person to see a medication primarily used by diabetics and anabolic steroid users and think "yes, unlimited burger"

sometimes the fatty lives deep within

fat is a state of mind not always reflected by the body

now, if you're not going to eat that, I'm hungry ( ´ ¬ ` )
