It just takes practice. I was the same way back when all I did was watch anime, play games, and browse the net, but the more reading I did (fiction books in particular), the easier it got

As a kid I used to read a lot of books (liek 2000+ pages weekly) and I feel like I had an easier time understanding long texts then. It also helped with grades :nyaoo-closedeyes:

These days it has been over a decade since I read a "proper" book and sometimes I need to read some passages multiple times for my brain to register what is going on.

It may also has to do with kids having easier time grasping new concepts. I wish they shoved in moar mathz into my brain while I could handle learning new things...
Or maybe it's just that I was reading fun stuff aimed at a younger audience instead of technical textbooks and so :sweat2:
>>
I can't keep up with the heyuri stream subs so I end up confused about the show story
>>

if i watch a movie or anime i have to recite everything that happens in my head or i wont understand anything( ´_ゝ`)

i think it has a lot to do with the constant stimulation we get from phones and computers. ive also found it harder to read full books and anecdotally have heard more than one college professor say theyre noticing students generally have a harder time staying engaged with books. i think for that reason its good to make a point of reading books, just go at your own pace.

SAEM! but it got a lot better ヽ(´ー`)ノ i used to do that every 5 minutes even for naruto in middle school, now i only do with more complex anime

If you can read stuff you're actually interested in just fine then these don't sound like problems, they sound like the brain rejecting boring shit being forced into it, like the gag reflex activating when you put something disgusting in your mouth. If you believe that you need to get a job as a cow manure taste tester then you could work on training your gag reflex to not activate, but why not take a more enjoyable path in life instead? Don't force yourself to read boring shit you don't care about.
>>
>>168238
i cant read stuff i care about either, unless its simple liek manga as i said! (´;ω;`)

Did you use text-to-speech or get someone who isn't retarded to read that post to you? If not, that means you can read!
>>
>>168242
i dont go out of my way to do those things, because i dont go out of my way in general to read:sweat:
but i understand way better if someone is reading outloud
