what's the most annoying thing you find in nu-otaku/weeb people?

aside from being shounen shitters :closed-eyes:

I don't know if this is the right term for this but: ironic/sarcastic horniness.

The way they say "OH HOHO IM SUCH A DEGENERATE" when they talk about how they like milfs, tomboys and goths.
The obsessive need to "justify" their horniness for e.g. furries, kemonomimi, monsters.
Sometimes how they keep trying to "outhorny" one another by claiming increasingly absurd things they would have sex with (even when they wouldn't in actuality)

Other grievances are the tendency to refer to beautiful/cute characters as "gooner slop" (sorry if rule 8), and their aggression against anyone who likes "immoral/unethical/scum" characters.

Idk I never leave Heyuri
>>
>>163715
they were never around for any of it and think they have the authority to speak on things like sexuality in anime whether it be fan service or loli/shota
>>
>>163731
I always wondered if there was someone here like this. Who's only exposure to other people on the internet was via heyuri
>>
i don't know and i don't care. ヽ(´ー`)ノ
i hardly leave heyuri either these days, except occasionally lurking a few other popular english-speaking imageboards (and russian ones too) (´ー`)
>>
>>163765
@
чужой!
>>
it's that they don't use Heyuri!
>>
>>163766
я не чужой, тоже не русский.
прости меия, я просто вонючий американец. (´人`)
я плохо говорю по-русский, но я изучаю.
ok, i exhausted my russian (;^Д^)
i had to look up the adjective for smelly, so there may have been a better term i could've used. (;゚∀゚)

anyway, i just lurk those sites to immerse myself.

ax, ну, извини.. хорошая работа

A liaison from Department «HEYURI», FSB will be in contact with you shortly.
>>
They spend their time nitpicking and critiquing other Western "otaku" (who always sucked) instead of talking about Japanese media
>>
>>163729
exactly this, its so annoying...
>>
How they speak english all the time instead of speaking nihongo at every possible opportunity, like they'll actually say "thanks" instead of "arigatou" or "apple pie" instead of "appuru pai".
>>

Cringe culture and it's consequences have been disastrous. People online nowadays are too scared of appearing 'cringe', so they all act the same. This is why every new fandom/subculture online seems largely interchangeable. I think the movement away from anonymity and aliases has played a big part
>>
they talk about anime less and have less fun than the people they like to complain about :hokke:
>>
Other posters like >>163729 and >>163781 said it best. I feel that they aren't interested in the medium itself and are more concerned with "being in" the group. They might have some form of familiarity with the medium's contents but the way they act makes it feel superficial.
>>
They complain about the ages of characters too much.
>>
I hate how there's a subset of new anime fans that are so obsessed with the "cringe/not cringe" dichotomy that they either keep their interests at an arm's distance for fear of seeming too attached to anime or they go all in on early-web fetishism and wear their Invader Zim bullshit to conventions and play up the Otaku angle. The latter are terrible; do they think people don't know how much they're forcing it? It's mainly teens to twenty-somethings that do these and it's really sad to see people forget that you can like things without needing to have an agenda behind it. Just learn how to be genuine already ( ´,_ゝ`)

Also most new guys seem to not watch anime all that often. They just play (smartphone) games with anime characters in them and know about some anime from "memes" or whatever (´~`)
>>
>Also most new guys seem to not watch anime all that often
It's not helped by the current state of anime :sweat2:
>>
They treat sexualization as a bad thing
>>

>current state
Then watch old shit. It's all there (´人`)
>>
No one is a shotacon like me
>>
the way they attack lolicon as if lolicon isn't the foundation of otaku culture

It's not like you can't watch old things. I took the average release dates on my small jellyfin server and the average years for movies and TV shows were 1998 and 2006 respectively
