I beat Mother 3 as well, very recently I think around the start of Feburary.
I greatly enjoyed it, definitely a unique and improved experience as a sequel!
I really like how the starting chapters have the player playing different characters. Showing different narrative perspectives.

the moment in which Flint realizes that his wife is dead, and he remains stoic even as he loses it was very poignant. same with the part with the mecha-drago and the baby drago.
the game has its weirdness and twists and turns, and it's also very different from Mother 1 and 2, but despite that I still think it's cool.
also, I want to have sex with Kumatora

The game's weirdness is one of its greatest charms. I can see why a lot of indie game devs were inspired by it. The way it still presents a lot of normality like houses, villages and towns but then there's strange oddities like Leder being as tall as a building, porky and his whole pig motif, talking animals, friendly dinosaurs, rope snake, strange characters and random bits of sci-fi. It's an amazing experience.
