i can see where youre coming from, ''real otaku'' rooms seem more lived in and utilitarian, (or full of trash and piss bottles!). I'm only speculating, but maybe it seems fake to you because of their over-emphasis on flashy presentation... lights, expensive shelfs... etc? But does that make someone less otaku?
