Microsoft is actively shilling rust for „memory safe drivers” and guess who's in the linux foundation board? Obviously „memory safety” is a popular buzzword and it's going to penetrate the wallets of clueless corporate suits so of course there's a profit incentive. The only reason why linux has rust in the kernel is so microsoft can market their azure servers as „modern, secure, memory safe infrastructure”.

Yes, all of them. GTK, QT, dbus and polkit are horrible bloated corporate insecure cancer and anything based on it is garbage by default. Especially desktop environments like GNOME and KDE.
