People want to see cute girls tho, but for sure, teh only two slice of life anime with males that i can think of right now are Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou & Osomatsu-san

The main demographic is probably men who enjoy watching the fictional depiction of young girls living their lives. If the cast was all men it would immediately make them reflect and compare the characters' experiences with their own lives. With young girls there is somewhat of a wall which allows them to freely fantasize and relax. All that nonsense said people just like cute girls. (´･ω･｀)

it's either for the sake of cute girls or nostalgia tripping. so either just misc plots with main cast of girls or a school club doing random shit with some spice thrown in for drama. a dead genre these days for being "too japanese".
