can you give me a truly earth shattering anime or manga that is deep and cool and interesting that hasnt been overtaken by tiktok thanks (・∀・)
what does that even meaneither way, go read Devilman and Devilman Ladytits and violence and grand drama and a constant appreciation for what is coolDevilman Lady has maybe more rape than it has any reason to, but maybe you'll appreciate that.
>>3609thanks dude ill check it outi meant, when tiktok overtakes a show or manga its all mischaracterization and fangirl edits which is lame
>>3610But you could just not go to tiktok or similar sites and then you wouldn't even know that. Also I recommend you watch stuff that helps you feel good instead of depressed because feeling good feels much better than feeling depressed.
learn to enjoy the media you consume
is tiktok in the room with us right now?
Are you talking about what is happened to shows like Spy x Family and Chainsaw Man?Anyway, you can try shows like Jigoku Shoujo, Shinsekai Yori...
>>3611dont worry ive learned my lessonthanks though
>>3614essentially
>that hasnt been overtaken by tiktok>tiktok overtakes a show or manga its all mischaracterization and fangirl editsI don't think tiktok makes any appearance in any anime, go ddg "deep anime suggestions" and start a random one.
if it makes you feel better the public is stupid
>>3613yesit is right behind you, with a bat
I make this observation not to thrash you in particular, as this has been a common phenomena for many other people, and long before the internet at that. When you say you do not want to watch anime that "hasnt been overtaken by tiktok," why is it you ask for that?It may be a sort of litmus test, maybe, as perhaps a user of TikTok is too retarded to watch good anime, therefore anime widely enjoyed by such crowd is to be discarded. But prior to this, you mentioned it should also be "cool and interesting," so an anime can both be good and have undergone TikTokification under your rules; this cannot be it, then. Is it that you, yourself, use TikTok and do not want to see lowlives raping a potential series you enjoy? This cannot be, you are on Heyuri, you would be in no such pigsty. So, what is it?Just as men would not listen to ABBA in the 70s because it was for cock-suckling faggots, so too would you not watch SpyXFamily or One Piece. The quality of the piece nay matters as much as your image among your peers; you do not want to be viewed as a TikTok viewer. But what good is that? Do you have peers? Do you tell your friends every anime you watch and your opinion on it? You could simply state otherwise. And what about on Heyuri? You are Anonymous, Anonymous! We know naught of you! We give out zero cares for your anime opinions, as it could just as well be anyone else's!You have, effectively, created people in your mind that intimately care about your perspectives on anime. You are appeasing, displeasing, or fighting against people that do not exist. You let these constructs decide what pixels you will arrange on your screen. You restrict yourself for what? Free your mind, Anonymous! Just as we came around to ABBA despite its affiliation with homosexes, you can see a young woman on TikTok cosplaying a SpyXFamily character and still shut off the phone and declare "The pink child is extremely erotic" and get it on nyaa.si.Watch Texhnolyze.
I used to love to watch "dark & depressing" anime, however i don't think there are too many out there that made me cry 4 real. These are not "dark" but... Here's some that i did cry to;Anohana: The Flower We Saw That DayGrave of the FirefliesSaiKanoClannad: After story (Or anything from Key)some darker ones;Texhnolyze is dull and depressing.Ergo ProxyHaibane RenmeiI usally find Visuels novels to hit harder than anything else. Honestly, teh real saddness comes from literature.
Texhnolyze was neither depressing nor interesting IMO, the only memorable scene was when they spent budget on some guy touching Ran's lips. It did have a well thought plot but wasn't fun overall to watch, and I watched it recentlyI liek dark fantasy but I'm not rly big on dark anime. If I wanted to be depressed, I would just think about my future >Read narcissu!I read Ame no Maajinaru from the same scenarist, I enjoyed teh detached atmosphereIs Narikissosu any interesting/fun or just trying to make u cry? Maybe I'd read in the upcoming decades
Rainbow
>Is Narikissosu any interesting/fun or just trying to make u cry?Hmm, i would't say it felt forced - rather opposite - as teh ending conclusion slowly creeped up on you as you already sort of knew how it would end before you reached teh final chapters. It's about a journey without no goal, just going somewhere. Going. Just going - as thats better than staying still. It's short, around 3-6 hours. The script is well written and the mc felt as a reason person with motivations and why she's detached from teh world. Even so... she has fun! so did i! read it. I need to read teh 2nd part, as it's on my list. Also, The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls. When i think of it, thats teh shit i cryed teh most too! LOL It's about struggle, friendship and... belonging. It hits hard as it knows teh trigger points of emotions.
>>3609also, if you liked these, I would recommend Violence JackI think he got an honorary degree somewhere for it, and it is well deserved. The fact that it is unknown in the English speaking world is abysmal. Sometimes silly, but always really fucking badass, without a trace of irony.also, unfortunately, there are several untranslated chapters
>>3627just look at this cool ass page
kara no shoujo 1.. if you know.. you know
oyasumi punpun. or if you want lolis and something that's slightly less depressing, dead dead demons dededestruction by the same author (inio asano). off the top of my head, i can't really think of any anime that felt really earth shattering or even deep and cool and interesting. aside from like evangelion (even though it's not my thing anymore), though i'm pretty sure everyone here has seen that. oh, actually i just remembered the original fma anime. that one's really good. it's very deep and interesting, really great worldbuilding too. it puts fmab to shame imo. you could also try cat soup, which is a short little trippy movie that is more than it may seem at surface level. and higurashi, though it's been so long since i've seen that and i'm not sure how well it would fit with what you seem to be looking for.
>I usally find Visuels novels to hit harder than anything else.yes.. read Kara no Shoujoread Kara no Shoujoread Kara no Shoujoread Kara no Shoujoread Kara no Shoujoread Kara no Shoujoread Kara no Shoujo
>>3608Have you read Bokurano? It gets a little silly but in general, it broke me when I read it.
>>3935have u heard bout muh pen0r? it will break u 2
you should read Onani Master Kurosawa, a simple but well executed story about a boy and his PENIS ( ´ω`)
>>3608My answer to this is always Shigurui. Its in a chain of 'cruel jidai-geki', or nasty period drama stories about late Samurai Japan. Similar works include 'Lone Wolf and Cub' or other works from Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima, or 'Satsuma Gishiden' or other works from Hirata Hiroshi, as well as post-Shiguri works like 'Ichigeki' by Matsumoto Jiro. But of them, Shiguiri is by far my favorite for its focus and fidelity on telling a story about two motherfuckers that just hate one another and who constantly tear each other down within a feudal system built around performative sociopathy, actual sociopathy, and sadism. Irako Seigen, one of the two protagonists, is a real glorious bastard of a character and Byronic hero that is as scummy as he is magnificent. Top 5 favorite anime characters, easily.
>>3940I second that. Also, by the same mangaka(s): Molester man, Tsunbaka, and Destroy all Humanity. Great art, story and really fun to read. If you want something more depressing, Three days of hapiness (either the novel or manga).
>>3622You have convinced me to read this book

>>3613yeah if you couldn't tell by looking at the catalog. there's like 0 real discussion about anything here it's kind of weird.
I'm not sure what counts as "real discussion" for you, because other than scanty picz, we have plenty of discussion here
