leorio and kurapika split up with gon and killua 2 episodes ago from the episode i'm currently watching, so i haven't seen much of them but i like them more than gon and killua to be honest
i have a soft spot for intelligent/methodical characters like kurapika and leorio reminds me a little of myself at times

guys i think the chimera ant thing is going on for a bit too long, i'm kind of bored now
the power levels keep going up too, i almost expect gon to pulverize the entire planet if he sneezes

i recommend checking out the 1999 one. i personally liked it more than the manga and the 2011 version. it also made me actually like the main characters and fleshed them out in better and more interesting ways than was done in the manga/2011 anime. killua and gon are more like siblings than an unhealthy co-dependant relationship (well, more like dependent solely on killua's end..), and gon is less of a little douchebag. kurapika and leorio are more fun to watch too, and they don't feel like empty characters to me the way they did in manga/2011. i wish they could have made it to the chimera ant arc, but alas. admittedly i haven't watched the greed island OVAs of the 1999 anime yet, so i can't really speak on the quality of those. greed island was easily my least favorite arc of hxh, so i'm intrigued to see if they could make it more bearable or even likable to me.

i can't exactly remember. i don't think they did. after the chimera ant arc, he hasn't been mentioned since, and i don't recall if the manga went into more detail than the anime did in the scenes he was in, it's been a while since i've read. he might end up coming up again later on, but who knows. it won't be for quite a while i can tell you that. the arc that's happening now is really interesting though. i can't wait to see if what happens on the ship is as drastic as i think it's going to be. togashi doesn't usually disappoint in that regard. he finally started publishing chapters again after a couple years. said it was gonna happen last year, but ended up starting up again in october this year i think it was. i've only read one of them so far, i should really check up again.

overall the current arc is pretty boring, and the writing is kind of lackluster in my eyes at most parts, but the anticipation for what will happen keeps me intrigued. though there are two characters who i find very interesting, the scenes involving them and their relationship in general is like a horror story. theta and the prince she is working with. that is one sinister motherfucker. i don't know if that's exactly spoilers, but just in case.

one one hand it would give me some peace knowing he truly reincarnated and the kite we got isnt just a clone or mish mash of people who happen to have kite's memories, on the other hand though its all so vague that it feels like it was put in the manga/anime because the mangaka regretted killing him off
also i recall kurapika saying that you cant use nen to conjure things like a sword that can cut through anything, cheating death is a VERY powerful thing, so much that id argue it would fall under the "cant do with nen" category
