I highly recommend the route you're on. In my opinion this adaptation was terrible and ruined the pacing and atmosphere of the original game. It's not even me being unfair because I played the game first. The Steins;Gate adaptation was fine.

A thing to always keep in mind
if the anime is an adaptation of a VN , VN is always better(＾Д^)

I played teh main route and it's amazing! Still hasn't gotten around to play teh other routes nor teh true ending... Then we also have Chaos:child I need 2 play!

The adaptation is very inferior. It's way too fast-paced. I had the same complaint about the Steins;Gate anime adaptation, but it's even worse with Chaos;Head since it's like half the episodes.

I'm not the kind who normally pushes everyone to read the original, but you really should with these two.
