I think the people who really don't like LLMs haven't used a model that actually does good work. I buy API access to several models with crypto and having Sonnet 5 create an entire codebase for a very specific testbench that I can go in and learn/verify for only 35 cents is pretty fucking great. You have to treat LLMs as (potentially very competent) research assistants and not much else.
