At what point do you think traditional website design truly died?

Im not talking about those overly-nostalgia-milked (g)(n)eocities websites, or other early 90s stuff, but sites kinda designed like heyuri, kolyma, etc - sites with minimal to no js, no webkits, they usually are a bit rough, and uneven.

Modern sites are pretty much all cookie-cutter sleek and white design, modern and minimalist. That or chock-fucking-full of ads and unecessary javascript. Oh, and god fucking forbid those fucking bootstrap websites that are literally the same thing everywhere.

As motherfuckingwebsite.com put it,
"This entire page weighs less than the gradient-meshed facebook logo on your fucking Wordpress site. Did you seriously load 100kb of jQuery UI just so you could animate the fucking background color of a div? You loaded all 7 fontfaces of a shitty webfont just so you could say "Hi." at 100px height at the beginning of your site? You piece of shit."
