It's a little depressing that Heyuri receives few posts an hour and that's already enough to make it among the fastest English language BBSes. It makes further growth (ie. outside imageboards) a bit challenging...

For the answer to your question, I think Heyuri simply stands out with its laid-back atmosphere among other bulletin boards, so it's more likely to become the users' home if they are seeking one. Our worry is having fun on the interwebz with fellow friendly Heyurians instead of standing out among other sites or competing within ourselves
