While I don't dislike the idea of expansion -I did enjoy working for Kolyma's expansion back in teh day-, what u don't realize is that it takes a lot of $$$ to achieve
It was only kuz who could afford paying sums I have never physically seen to take over hueg websites (like vidlii, with almost half a million videos now) and keep paying to host them... Though in his case, it was physical servers in the company's datacenters. Obviously he has left the internet now (after making necessary arrangements for the survival of the 3 imageboards I administrate) and it's questionable if he is even alive, so I'm by myself now.
Any realistic venture we could have now is brand-new "subsidiaries" under Heyuri -
Heyuri★CGI
managed by one of our mods is an example (note that he pays for his server monthly out of his pocket too, obviously with nothing gain in exchange). I'm also not sure what Heyuri-brand (not necessarily BBS-related, or even hosted the same domain if we can afford a new one) topic we could delve into, but that's for another thread to think about
If you has one of those "new, young, and radical minds", feel free to reach out
>>Kaguya, is the ultimate "quantity over quality"
>i meant the opposite
It's not wrong I am quality over quantity, but there is no admin who has qualms about getting more activity
I too believe Heyuri could have the same quality while receiving thousands of posts a day (4chan 2004 was liek 2000 PPD), I've reiterated this multiple times on this board too. We have been fluctuating between 100~200 (considering only kokonotsuba boards) PPD, with highs and lows... or not, I can't make quick calculations as we don't have a discord server anymore (mod-san, are u still making graphs?).
>The proliferation of pedophilia probably has seriously hindered heyuris growth and that also must be addressed
Kodomoero is one thing that will seemingly be addressed during the upcoming townhall soon, but if someone leaves Heyuri just because they can't handle the existence of lolicon users - I'll pick the side of our dozens of long residing peaceful pedobears over some hypothetical users who would probably leave in a week after seeing some scat pr0nz anyways
But this is another topic now
>Why doesn't kaguya buy more sites and direct users to heyuri..
again, it takes too much moneez... It's a matter of convincing existing bored admins of sites to hand out data/domain in exchange of big USDs, and it's known that currently I have to beg around for paying even Heyuri's own domain.
>But since his ascension no new major efforts have been made to expand heyuris usership rapidly.
Now that's not true...
>where are the mass advertising campaigns?
We did maek some albums/song compilations and put them on youtube (we should do one again sumtime), reached out multiple Japanese link lists, Heyuri is also big enough that we notice new users every so often. I tried to spread the word of Flash@Heyuri among old 4/f/ users as much as I could, and so on.

I also linked Heyuri's Strange World with Japanese
Ayashii World
bulletin boards, or at least made the effort and the users there saw & came over even if briefly (and we now have some Japanese regulars on our instance).
That said, if you have any other ideas about advertising (that don't require paying...), plz don't hesitate to propose! I believe Heyuri should be advertised anywhere and everywhere, and our moderation should take care of removing the unfits.
It's also worth mentioning it's bad for Heyuri's image if it's found out that I excessively share Heyuri around (like someone did in 2023) by myself, especially on other imageboards. It's rare that a Western BBS would have the same level of good faith about other BBSes as much as Heyuri has, as it's just Heyuri that takes such inspiration from Japanese net, where such an action is actually expected from site admins. That's why I am more inclined to try and attract users from those places myself
>Where is the DRAMA, that made things so interesting?
I don't think there is much space for dorama on Heyuri anymore, internal disputes are rare (at least most my communication is regarding development stuff) and rule breakers are diligently banned so they can't disturb the order.
Also it can seem interesting, but it's usually more likely to just harm teh activity
>that kaguya is willing to confine heyuri to the fate of all small imageboards
I think that happens mainly due to staff neglect. I admit being a lazy person in general, but I don't think actual neglect will be an issue for Heyuri for the foreseeable future. The fact that both me ad mod-san in the thread still making longposts on this very board after 5 years (howevar unreal that feels...) should be the proof
