>but the question is how big it should be... or how much we could handle. (・∀・)
Back in late June 2020, the generally consensus here was to shoot for "4chan circa 2004" and see how close we could get. Considering the rapid growth we had witnessed since May 2020, it seemed within the realm of possibility that we might reach that goal in a year or two...
Using GETs as a guide, we estimated that 4chan's /b/ had around 1,993 PPD (83 PPH/60,786 PPM) on average between April '04 and February '05 (though it's worth noting this doesn't account for the several weeks of downtime that occurred between then)
Off-Topic@Heyuri would have to multiply its post-January 2023 activity level by about 13.5 times to reach that. That might sound crazy, but it was about 20 times during June 2020 when this was first being discussed
For comparison, 4chan's /b/ during April '05 to October '05 had an average of 10,363 PPD (432 PPH/316,071 PPM), February '06 to July '06 had 45,454 PPD (1894 PPH/1,386,347 PPM), and July '07 to September '07 (the so-called "newfag summer") had 155,172 posts per day (6,466 PPH/4,732,746 PPM)
