>Do threads about incels (such as this one) violate rule 8?
That one doesn't in my eyes (disclaimer: I made the first reply in that thread), but it depends on the post

In general, I judge threads discussing a phenomenon differently to the phenomenon itself, and I also distinguish between terms that are specific to certain internet-based communities VS terms that have entered the wider public lexicon (Note: that doesn't just mean "commonly seen on Twitter/Reddit")

>The ignorance of the 'is coffee good for you' meme is quite weird to me because it's been going on for years
I haven't ever seen it or noticed, but I stopped going to 4chan in 2014 and have only been back occasionally since 2018 - I generally keep away from the primary Rule 8 hotspots sweat2

People posting sexy/weird images with posts that otherwise have nothing to do with it to grab attention are as old as time, but there was nothing about "coffee" specifically that I recall seeing in those, so the coffee thread here didn't make me think of that unsure

>Some of the best threads on 4chan circa 2007 were greentext story threads from the top of my head ┐(゚~゚)┌.
That format didn't exist in 2007 - it started around 2009/2010, and was controversial for a while sweat2
