Very valid on most sites, but that factoid mostly comes from the time where people didn't have smartphones with them 24/7, so they needed an extended period of time by which to browse the web out of boredom to land on something interesting (hence the influx). That said it stands to reason that this still works for much the same reason, because phone users will be stuck on skinner box systems instead of using the phone to browse even as they use it, so summer gives them an opportunity to do something else for once.
