in fact, I am annoyed enough by how hyper gay the idea that heyuri might even be in any way not work for a better (more fun) internet that I typed all of this when I could have been doing something better with my life (namely, jacking off)

* heyuri hosts a fucking lot
apart from the main imageboard, we have tons of cgi games on cgi.heyuri.net (generally no JS required) and many of them simply wouldn't exist on the English speaking web whatsoever if not for heyuri, we have a very active web chat that requires no JS (shit, someone connected and posted from a PS2, and a C64, and with a terminal client; if it has a web browser that isn't complete trash, you can chat), we have a rather generous file uploader service, active drawing board, /sw/, etc
there's also the stuff on heyuri.lol (cytube, our giko instance, etc) that isn't 100% official but cgi.heyuri.net is run by a different webmaster who is part of the main site staff lol so who cares; it is basically part of the heyuri network of sites and ends up being considered part of this site's infrastructure when dumb shit happens (eg, the domain name bullshit fucking us over)

* heyuri regularly does fun shit together
we do regular anime watch nights, we'll have game sessions (we probably need more of these), etc
bunkasai usually has cool shit when that rolls around
we probably could stand to do more (kissu does end up watching more anime for example, although a lot of their group watch time is seasonal shit), especially with getting people to do fun shit on the boards directly, but it isn't like heyuri doesn't have a community that can't stand on its own

* heyuri ends up developing a lot of shit as a matter of its continued operation
our main board software (kokonotsuba) kinda sucked really fucking bad not too long ago but it has been getting quite a lot of TLC; it is impressive how much better (and faster) it is now
all the cgi script stuff is translated by heyuri staff (basically waha) and updated to work on modern PHP and Perl and whatnot
the board script that /sw/ uses has been updated quite a bit by heyuri (there's also a japanese site admin who pops in and does some work on it sometimes)

I had typed a reply to this post, but decided that it was not worth the effort to engage with this retard. I am absurdly tempted to engage with this post beyond calling it retarded, but there isn't any value in it.
