I don't expect a better internet. Honestly, I expect shit to get worse, and I will sip tea while the storm of dumb bullshit grows ever larger outside. I post on sites I like, I actively update my own site. I don't really give a shit how much reach I have, because if I did, I'd probably lose any motivation to post anything.

Heyuri solves a lot of the issues the OP pic mentions. Heyuri actively runs a lot of oldschool web software and hosts a lot of web services. Heyuri has a large community. Heyuri probably should have more of a community of picture edits and shit on the imageboard to make it more fun, but like, what did you come here to bitch about?

I bounced off of cy-x a while ago because it was full of people who just fucking hated... things in general, regardless of the webmaster's intentions. Heyuri actively tells people like that to fuck off. Rule 8 remains a goddamn bastion against most of the dumb fuckery that has made the internet worse over the last 15 years.
Heyuri isn't perfect and there is a ton of shit I just don't interact with here, but fuck, it has proven to be better than most everything else.

Seriously, I keep seeing opinions like this about Heyuri, and I simply don't get them. There has been a long-standing smear campaign about Heyuri to try and drive people to other sites with lower populations because they want to post R8 shit, they live in a country where they'll get fucked for lolicon and/or feel like they're doing some kind of moral good and doing some kind of "cultural purification" (when at most they're just bullying a bunch of hypernerds who just want to jack off and sleep all day), or they are still bitter over Kuz, who only shows up once every few months these days anyway. I think he basically just bankrolls here and that's it? It's not like Kaguya has money.

Also, of course people yearn for the good ol days. Shit was measurably more fun, even if there was a lot of shit was also measurably shittier. Entire swaths of bullshit cultural attitudes didn't exist yet. It's not like the site is just that 24/7, get the fuck out of here with that.
