well, the original admin lolico got his start on 4/g/ where he talked about making a new website and it was a file uploader at first, not an imageboard yet. but when heyuri was remade as such, it wasn't intended as a place for a certain portion of 4chan's userbase to congregate to as other imageboards have been (/jp/ and /qa/ to kissu, post-gamergate users to 8chan etc.) you could say it is intended as a broader replacement of 4chan in the sense of being a better english-speaking imageboard and generally more fun to use. (ﾟｰﾟ)

we've had more influxes of 4chan users come by (some by invitation on our part, others not), but we don't consistently target a single demographic.
