It has always been, and will continue to be ideological. No cares what the law behind loli/shota works says, because it's complicated, arbitrary, and is different in every country. It's easier to just say "ew, gross, get away!", accuse someone of being a pedo (worst label one could have attached to themselves in 2026), and move on. This is why society needs to have more conversations around loli/shotacon and pedophilia, but maybe separating reality from fiction is too hard of a mental task for most people...
