Personally, i just dress up my boyfriend as a maid, that works pretty well too.
I don't think you have to give up on your hobbies if you want to participate in society to be honest, quite the opposite; i think it's important to be honest so that you can make friends with the same interests, you don't really have to give up anything for that, but you still have to mask a little bit at work of course, but private and personal life is separate for a reason, and workplaces that do not respect this do not deserve you.
